Within easy reach are the world-famous golf courses of Royal Troon, Prestwick and Trump Turnberry, and the seaside town of Ayr offers a range of restaurants, cafés, shops as well as hosting horse racing events throughout the year at the Ayr Racecourse.

Summary: We really enjoyed out stay at the Smithfield House. We had loads of room for our family, both inside and on the patio. Although the location is in the countryside it is only a short drive to reach nearby larger towns. Drew was very responsive to any questions or minor issues that arose. I would highly recommend staying here.

Summary: A brilliant house for family Christmas even with the weather so bad. Loads of space, always warm, local shops nearby and excellent for last minute or extra items. Large supermarkets not far away. The games room is a great extra. Very good value in my experience.

Summary: First class stay from start to finish. The property and location are both superb. Drew/Claire are incredibly attentive. when we had questions they were answered quickly. We had one minor issue of being unable to work the patio heaters and Drew was with us within 10 minutes to sort it out. I really couldn't ask for more. The property was spotless on arrival, the facilities from the games room to the pizza oven and everything else in between all well-used and appreciated by the guests. Plenty of parking and a charger for electric cars. A lovely quiet location with views across the countryside. Highly recommended.

Summary: Celebrated my birthday with my four children, their husband,wives and children and had the best time with the wonderful facilities at Smithfield House. We were blessed with beautiful weather and loved the outside area where we partied all Saturday night .

Summary: The pictures online do not do it justice. It is like a Tardis. There is plenty of kitchen equipment and the games room has so many things in it. The enclosed area is great if you have a dog or young children. The outside area is great for dining. The cows in the field next to property were an extra bonus, everybody loved them. And it was really lovely to meet Drew as well. The added touches of umbrella's shows how the owners have thought of residents. Would gladly and hopefully we will stay again in the future.

Summary: Overall the property was just what we needed to cope with my family 8 adults, 6 children, 2 infants and a dog. The owners left plenty of extras too, flowers, fruit, bag of briquettes, fire lighters, wood for pizza oven. Situated in a great location for days out and to top it off the weather was fantastic too what more could you ask for.
