4 Bedroom House in Merewether

Our Merewether home is in a tranquil tree lined street in a family friendly neighbourhood overlooking the beautiful Myamblah Oval. Our home is light, cosy, spacious and on a level block with beautiful native trees and birds surrounding. We have modern and comfortable furnishings. Quality linen and bedding is provided for you to enjoy a comfortable and restful stay. Our home is two story with four bedrooms located on the first floor along with living spaces, bathroom, seperate toilet and kitchen. There is a large rumpus room, laundry and second original retro bathroom downstairs. Our home is perfect for families or friends travelling together. We welcome children and it would be an ideal place to work from home. We have a bocce’/pétanque court in the back yard for some friendly rivalry.
Upstairs:
Master Bedroom- Queen bed and walk in robe
Bedroom 2- Queen bed and large built in cupboards
Bedroom 3- Queen bed
Bedroom 4- 2 single bunks and a pull-out trundle bed
Kitchen, dining, alfresco, bathroom and seperate toilet
Downstairs:
Rumpus room with kids toys and games, laundry with washing machine and drier, retro bathroom including toilet, shower and basin. Good sized, enclosed, flat back yard, hills hoist and bocce' court.
The house is equipped with a reverse cycle air conditioner and room heaters for comfort all year round. We have fast wifi with unlimited downloads, a large flat screen smart TV and DVD player with children’s DVDs. We provide milk, sugar, coffee, coffee pods for the Nespresso coffee machine, tea and other essentials for a comfortable stay. You’ll find board games, a bookshelf with a variety of books and a blue tooth speaker for some relaxation and down time. Take a book and leave a book from the Myamblah bookshelf.
We welcome outside pets. Pets are not permitted inside as we like to keep the home as clean as possible for our guests. Your furry friend can sleep in the laundry at night time if necessary.
We are a flat 20 min walk or 3 min drive to the iconic Merewether Beach. Here you'll find ocean baths, a great walking/scooter/bike path, 'Surfhouse' cafe' and restaurant and the famous Beach Hotel. We live directly across from Myamblah Oval. A great spot to walk the dog and for the kids to kick a ball around. There is a great kids park on Winsor St- a 15 min walk/3 min drive. Local shops are on Llewellyn St- IGA, bottle shop, chemist, fruit and veg, post office, pizza, Chinese take away and Drift cafe'. These are a 15 min walk/3 minute drive. We are also only a 5 minute ride to the Fernleigh cycle/walking track and the Glenrock State Recreation MTB/bush walking trails.
There is a bus stop located within 125m of the property that provides links to Newcastle (city), Charlestown and Kotara shopping centres. We are a 10 minute Uber into Newcastle city or a 5 minute Uber to the chic restaurants, cafe's and boutique shopping of The Junction, Darby St Cooks Hill & Beaumont St Hamilton.

Summary: We stayed over the Easter long weekend at this beautiful property. The house lived up to the expectations from the listing and was very comfortable and attractive. We enjoyed our leisurely breakfasts on the sunny deck. Having 2 bathrooms was a bonus for a group of 7 adults.The location was lovely and quiet and easy to get to the city or beaches areas.

Summary: Great house, kitchen well resourced with coffee machine and other new appliances, everything was very clean. Short drive to good cafe's and beaches, and on quiet suburban street. Lovely little garden for dogs and outdoor seating on balcony. Good wardrobes for storage. Only feedback is that the bathroom tap continually drips, and the side gate isn't properly secured (if a larger dog jumped and pushed the gate it could easily open). Otherwise really enjoyed our stay and would come back if available.

Summary: The property was very quiet but not too far from Newcastle where there were many pubs and cafes, beaches and parks to go to. The house was great with lots of space and very comfortable beds and lounges. Could have an upgrade to the indoor chairs for comfort and a pool or tennis table for the rumpus room. Great stay overall- would stay there again!

Summary: Great location very family friendly location. 5min to beach, MTB track. 10 min to city quiet, spacious., bright, Well furnished great endless hot water, two showers and toilets are awesome. On the down side . As a family we cook a lot. The cook top is very difficult to control.The supplied pans are all damaged and burnt. The back stairs from the veranda are dangerous and a few of the step really need replacing as the are rotted. These are minor but important to a family rental Thanks

Summary: A quiet location and close to many of Newcastle’s attractions. The house was clean and had everything we required. Kids enjoyed the backyard. Only minor issue was noisy downpipes near bedrooms when it rained.
