This beautiful independent villa is located in the spectacular landscape well known as Val d’Orcia, a short distance from the small hamlet of Monticchiello and also within easy reach of Pienza. When the owners bought the property it was just a ruin but a long and careful restoration has transformed it in to a high quality and comfortable villa with a delightful pool.
In restoring the structure as a comfortable vacation house of exceptional character, the owners\' main aim was to respect the original features of the building. Rooms with wood-beamed ceilings are well-sized and open to the most beautiful views of the valley, with wheat fields, olive groves, and cypress trees. The owner family maintained the traditional structure of the farmhouse and kept the house divided into two independent units: the ground level, once the stables, which can accommodate ten people, and the top level, where the peasants used to live, which sleeps four more people. As a result, Villa Pamina is the perfect setting for family reunions or groups of friends looking for an “oasis” of tranquility, surrounded by art and culture. The villa sleeps 14 guests and is approximately 600 sqmt. On the ground floor there is a fully-equipped chef\'s kitchen (fridge with freezer, oven, microwave oven, kettle, 5 rings cooker, dishwasher); a huge living-dining room with double doors opening to the front patio and to the back garden. In the smaller living room there is a large stone fireplace surrounded by wide red sofas spreading a warm and cozy atmosphere. Five spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms complete the remaining space on this floor. An external stone staircase leads to the upper floor unit; four breathtaking arched windows overlook the valley and the huge oak tree in front of the house, creating an open and dynamic space. Another large stone fireplace offers an ideal retreat for afternoon reading. A fully equipped kitchen will appeal to those who love cooking, and the vistas and plantings from the many windows are very pleasing to the eye. The extensive lawn is mainly seeded with grass to maintain the open space of the valley and not to restrict the view around the farmhouse. Terracotta pots with geraniums, wild roses, and bushes of lavender and rosemary create a beautiful frame around the pool. The covered dining space with fireplace, pizza oven, barbecue, table and chairs will let guests enjoy unforgettable Tuscan sunsets. A laundry room with washing machine, hangers, ironing board and iron is available for the guests of the villa. Summary: This is the quintessential Tuscan farmhouse experience. The location, just outside the beautiful village of Monticchiello, with perfect sunset views of the Val d’Orcia, can’t be beat. The house is large and could have easily accommodated a group much bigger than ours (6 people), but was cozy enough for my two young boys to be comfortable. We didn’t have the chance to use it, but the pool, bread/pizza oven, and wood fire grill all looked great. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and Serena is a great host. The house has everything you need.

Summary: Amazing location and property! Perfect for a large family traveling together. The view of Pienza from the back patio was unbelievable. All bedrooms have attached bathrooms. Three of the bathrooms have bath tubs and showers. The others just showers. One thing to be aware of is that heating the house is an extra cost. This was not a problem for us as it was beautiful weather other than one cold day. The pool is not heated and was quite chilly. We loved the separate building with the pizza oven and the large family table. It was so fun to gather in and cook our own pizza from scratch! Perfect home base to visit all the villages in our favorite part of Tuscany.

Summary: Had a great experience renting this property. The house itself was beautiful and very spacious. It had several sitting areas to give everyone their own space. Beautiful views of Pienza in the distance from the front yard and spectacular sunsets each night. Each bedroom had an en suite bathroom which was nice. Perfect for a large group. Emmanuel helped coordinate everything. He was very responsive with our questions and helped coordinate several dinners and cooking classes at the house. The owner was very helpful and even cooked us dinner on our first night. Thank you Emmanuel for all your help!
