Positive: The views and the aesthetics were amazing and unreal! It was great to have a gorgeous view to wake up to each day, though some days the clouds were so low that we couldn't even see the lake! The breakfast was superb and enjoyable each day and the hosts were more than accommodating on items to eat and drinks - always making sure we were full! The sauna was so nice after a long day of travel and probably one of the highlights of the property! Nicoletta and Giovanni also prepared a lovely apertif for us one evening and it was by far one of the best I have had. Nicoletta also helped me prepare other food for ourselves.
Negative: Unfortunately, the bad does outweigh the good for our experience. When I booked this B&B, I did not do enough research to see where Pigra was located which was entirely my fault. You 100% need a rental car to enjoy this property and reach it. It is a decent drive up the hill and there really isn't a good town with many food options nearby. The streets are insanely small to get up and down and on some occasions they can be very dangerous (especially on the days that the clouds are low). Each day we had to drive to and from the B&B for lunch, dinner, etc. There is an airtram now that delivers you to the closest decent town, however the hours aren't sufficient for its use case (Only available Fri-Sun 10AM-6PM). We also did not know that the owners and hosts would also be living at the resident which eliminated some privacy we are used to. At times we felt like a guest in someone's house, especially when we would get knocks at our doors at random times. My husband started feeling bad the second day we were there and we decided to buy some items for dinner to bring back and eat. I did store a few items in the shared community fridge downstairs, but when Nicoletta noticed me removing them, she seemed rather irritated and started saying something about how this is a B&B and not an apartment. Maybe I misunderstood, but it seemed like I was in the wrong for wanting to eat dinner in that evening. At times, I felt like we didn't have as much freedom as we should have had. The last item that made the stay not as enjoyable was the smell in the room of our bedding. When we arrived it had a very strong perfume smell (which was lovely, but could be overbearing for anyone with allergies) and then a bad odor like wet dog. I awoke constantly the first night to new smells of it. I asked Nicoletta if dogs were allowed at the B&B and if any had slept on the bed and if we could get our sheets changed.

Positive: B&B category does not do this place justice. More like a 5* Boutique Cabin Hotel and Spa in a quiet quaint mountain village location with Como Lake views to die for right from your bedroom. The rooms and building are a showcase of high end design with exquisite attention to detail in everything from art to decor to taps and door handles. The husband and wife team go way above and beyond to make your stay comfortable with heaps of local knowledge. The breakfast spread is a thing to behold in itself... tasty local seasonal produce made with love. You will leave this place refreshed and spiritually renewed. Como town is about a 30 minute drive with smaller towns like Argegno, Intelvi, and Lenno closer. Great hiking and biking options right on your doorstep.
Negative: Cable car from Pigra to Argegno only runs on weekends out of season - will need a car when it doesn't run. (This may change in 2025.)

Positive: With the view the B&B offers..what's there not to like?? Giovanni and his wife are simply incredible hosts. From the amazing breakfast to the appetite they offer after a long journey there. You will feel taken care of throughout your stay there. Highly highly recommended.
Negative: We liked everything. Only advice to anyone driving there...take a small car and a lot of nerves and patience while driving through the narrow snake like roads. Otherwise it is all worth it once you get to the B&B.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of welcome. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The food at BB Larium was outstanding. Each meal was carefully prepared with fresh ingredients, showcasing the best of local cuisine.
