Positive: The cottage was cosy and so quiet. A lovely welcome hamper which was enjoyed. The village is lovely with everything you need locally within walking distance. Great location for driving around, we went to the lake district one day then York on another, also drove around the nearby towns and villages, also we had a nice relaxing day in the cottage, ideal for a relaxing break. Easy and great communication with the host, hopefully return one day.

Positive: The bed and the bedding were exceptionally luxurious. The bathroom was lovely with a fantastic shower. The quality of the crockery etc was very good. The whole cottage was immaculate. It is the first time I have not had to clean crockery and cutlery before they could be used. The kitchen had everything you would need. The only drawback was that, because of the design, it was not really suitable for anyone who was exceptionally tall. The local chip shop pies are fantastic. Friendly neighbours.

Negative: Dining chairs were quite hard, but a couple of seat cushions can easily sort this. The parking was a slight issue. We had a rather terse note left on the car windscreen because we parked on the end space, where building work was ongoing. I'm not sure if the builders complained about the abundance of wheelie bins that encircled the end cottage, blocking access for practically everyone on bin day!

Positive: The location was absolutely gorgeous and all the people in the village were very friendly.

Negative: Large shops were a decent drive away but there was a co-op less than a 5 minutes walk away so it made up for it.
