4 Bedroom House in Plantation, St George Island

Welcome to The Palms, a vacation beach house located on St George Island at the 24x7 gated community, Plantation. This is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house situated across the street from the beach. We have an obstructed but awesome Gulf view from the second floor. Our guests have access to all of our community amenities including two large community pools, tennis courts, pickle ball court, bike paths, nature trails and easy access to prime fishing spot, Bob Sikes Cut.
On the ground floor we have two parking spaces under the house (more parking spaces in backyard), fish preparation table, shower with hot/cold water and a shed with beach toys,bikes and beach wagon.
First Floor.
There are 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a living area/hall on the first floor of the house. All bedrooms have queen size beds and spacey closets. Three of the bedrooms have tv. Both bathrooms have 2 entry doors: one from adjacent bedroom and another from the foyer. So you can control the access to the bathroom if you need: the bathrooms could be shared downstairs, but can be easily locked to make it fully private to bedrooms.
The Second Floor.
The high vaulted ceiling in the center of the house gives a wonderful sense of space, airy and light.
There is a large living area, dining area, kitchen, laundry/full bathroom, two furnished decks and screened porch on the second floor. The open floor plan living/dining/kitchen concept allows families to stay connected and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The kitchen with breakfast bar keeps the chefs of the family just earshot away. It is equipped with dishes, microwave, side by side refrigerator, stove, oven, toaster, pans, coffee maker, blender. You will enjoy the view of the Gulf while preparing your meal!
Dining area has a dining table which seats six comfortably and is attached to the kitchen and living area.
Additional seating for 4 is available at the breakfast bar or you may prefer to enjoy your meals on the decks or screened porch.
Living area has a sofa, love seat, couple chairs and a large TV. There is also a telescope here so you can watch the planets and stars. The living area is large, light-filled, open and comfortable with the water view through sliding glass deck doors.
Washer and dryer are available in the laundry/full bath on this level.
Our twin sun decks (East and West) are furnished. They provide the best place to see sunrise and sunset, enjoy refreshing breeze from the Gulf or just to have a good time with friends or family.
The Bay side screened porch is an old-style Florida porch where many warm evenings with cool breeze has been enjoyed. In this porch you will be at home with nature and may be blessed with sightings of bald eagles, herons, owls, egrets and other local wildlife.
Our rentals are by week or month with occasional exceptions. If you wish to rent for a shorter/longer period of time we encourage you to contact us. Please let us know the dates and how many people/pets are going to stay in the house. We will try to accommodate your needs.
Two dogs-$120 fee pet/stay. One dog-$75 pet fee.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Palms. We did not have any issues that we needed to reach out to the owners for. As pictured, you see the place isn’t some fancy ritz stay and we loved the laid back vibe. Beds were okay, some more comfortable than others, plenty of bedding, pillows, throw blankets for all. We did have to clean up when we got there, it wasn’t perfect. There are other reviews about roaches we didn’t see any until day three and the last 4 days of our trip we killed several per day, mostly in the downstairs area. I guess it’s just normal for the town. Didn’t bother us too much. The absolute best thing about this place is the proximity to the beach. A very short walk to the beach! We loved having a stocked shed with bicycles and beach chairs. What a great perk the owners offer!! As of Aug 2024 there were 4 beach chairs and 3 tailgate style chairs, 4 bicycles (the orange bikes front tire wouldn’t stay inflated, I’m sure it’s an easy fix). We rode the bikes to the pools and also to the bob Sikes cut boardwalk entrance where we fished off the jetties and caught a few little catfish that we threw back. The beach cart in the shed made our beach walks easy breezy!! Both umbrellas had broken parts, so bring your own! Overall really great stay!! We will be back! SGI is gorgeous and was very private - very few folks on the beach!

Summary: The house was mostly very clean (a hair in one shower only) and mostly very comfortable. We loved that bikes were included and the property was walkable to the beach. If you are used to the local realty companies descriptions of “across the street” please note this house is a little further away. However it is still quite close. If you are a cook you might want to consider bringing what utensils you need for meal prep as some of them were needing replacement. There was a good selection of pots, pans and storage containers provided. The owners were very responsive and helpful. There is a metal spiral staircase that connects the downstairs bedroom area up to the kitchen, living room and one bathroom so note if you have folks with mobility issues along. It was not an issue for us. There are no reading lamps in the living room, overhead lighting is your only option. The furniture was comfortable and provided ample seating. Overall we had a great stay.

Summary: Felt like owner has not seen place as many things were less than ideal for the location and cost. The beds were not comfortable. Chairs on decks were falling apart and decks and steps were not in great condition. Ceiling fan in one bedroom did not work. Blinds in another bedroom also not working.

Summary: This house is located in the beautiful plantation. The house had plenty of room for my family to stay. We enjoyed the bikes and beach cart that were provided. Overall the cleanliness of the house could have been better. It appeared as though no one had stayed there in some time. There were dead roaches throughout the house and the kitchen counters and floors were dirty. The furniture was outdated and fairly rundown. I communicated my concerns with the owner while on our stay and they were pretty quick to respond. Overall, our stay was ok. We enjoyed the plantation and all of its amenities.

Summary: We enjoyed our family beach vacation immensely! The location was perfect - close to the beach and the bike path. Everyone had their own space and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals at the house. The beach wagon was a big hit to carry our chairs back and forth to the beach, and the grill was perfect for a night of grilling at the house! We made many great family memories and hope to visit again!
