Summary: This large former farmhouse was just perfect for us as a large family group of children, their parents and grandparents. Plenty of shower rooms and a spacious living/dining room but as we had perfect weather we ate outside every day. The heated pool is a good size with ample sun loungers and umbrellas. The extensive grounds surround the house and the property is not overlooked. This is a very quiet location with fantastic views. The owner lives in a house nearby and was very helpful throughout our stay. The nearest village is just a few minutes drive away and has a bakery, small shop and a butcher. Supermarket some 15 mins away.

Summary: The Villa was in a beautiful location and spread out over a wide area with lots of seating areas. The views were stunning. The facilities for children were many including playground, ball sports and of course the pool. The accommodation was great for a family with plenty of bathrooms for privacy. The kitchen area was maybe in need of modernisation but adequate. The outdoor eating area for meals etc were excellent! All in all a great family holiday!

Summary: We have just enjoyed an excellent holiday at Le Maubertin. There were fourteen of us, 8 adults and 6 children(aged 2-10). It was easy to find on Google maps and for those inclined there is a forest track or a more traditional hard surface farm entrance to get to the property. The bedrooms worked out fine and importantly the beds were comfortable. A welcome surprise came on the middle Saturday when a team came to change the linens and clean the bathrooms. There were plenty of toilets and showers for our group and the water pressure was great. The owner Remi was very helpful, accessible if needed and discrete at all other times. The property was as described and the photos were accurate. It is in a wonderful location. It is situated adjacent to farmland and forest. In most locations on the property it was difficult to see another building apart from that of the owner. It was so quiet(when the children were asleep) the only noise was from the crickets in the adjacent meadow. The kids had a great time going on bug hunts and we came back with a number of photos of insects, lizards etc. The whole area enjoys special protection. The contrails from very high flying aeroplanes(no sounds) were the only indication that there were other people in the world. There were several locations inside and outside of the property that took our whole group at mealtimes. There were also several areas with seating scattered about for relaxing/reading etc. A remote spot yet only a few kilometres from several bakeries, each with their own versions of the classic pain aux raisin etc. One accepted email orders the night before as we were such a large group we could deprive the locals of their breakfast pastries if we just turned up unannounced. There are several large supermarkets/hypermarkets within easy reach. Two large fridge/freezers were fully used by our group. The kitchen though small worked very well for all of us. Our adult ‘kids’ produced many and varied dishes for our group throughout the two weeks. The property is also well placed to visit many of the varied attractions of the Dordogne. There is also a river beach close by. The grandkids had a great time at the property as there are many places to play but the heated pool was the major attraction on site. When booking on-line it is difficult to judge how everything will work out and in this one we had a winner.
