Le Gite au Chez has one bedroom with a double & a single bed, with room for a cot too.
Downstairs is the kitchen/dining and sitting room area.
The bathroom is also downstairs & has a basin, shower & lavatory.
Le Gite au Chez is an ancient farmhouse which we have restored retaining the charm & exposed stone work.
It is situated in a courtyard on an old farm in very tranquil surroundings. There are many walks from the property which are also mountain biking tracks.
It has one bedroom with one double & one single bed, there is also room for a cot. Downstairs is the sitting room/dining & kitchen area and the bathroom is two steps further down. There is a television. The entrance opens onto the flower bordered garden.
The village of St.Vaury is 1km away where there is a small supermarket, a bakery & several small commerces (a small supermarket, 2 bars, 2 tabacs, a bank, charcuterie, post office, a pharmacie, a hairdressers).
Ideal place for a quiet get away or house hunting as we are between Gueret & La Souterraine.
Limoges airport (flights from Stansted, Edinburgh, Luton, Liverpool & Southampton) one hour away and La Souterraine station is 20 minutes away where there are trains from Paris( Gare Austerlitz).

There is a tennis and a basket ball court in the village. Fishing lake 1km away. Plenty of lakes nearby for swimming in (10, 15, 15 and 20 minutes away).

Summary: We were welcomed by Rachel who was so warm and welcoming to us. She showed us around the gite and told us what was around. It was nice and quirky, only downside was that the bedroom was like a sauna at night. Even with both windows open to try and let any kind of air in. Rachel did offer to give us a fan, but we only had a couple of nights left. There was a lovely lake 20 minutes drive away which we went there to a couple of times and had a swim in it 👍🥰. Nice relaxing stay just what we needed. Lovely hosts would definitely recommend and would love to stay again ♥️

Summary: We arrived late but we had a lovely greeting from the owners dog who came running over as soon as we got out of the car. Rachel and James were fab hosts making us feel at home, Rachel prepared lovley meal and we all ate together, chatting about all sorts, the gite was rustic and charming with a lovely comfy bed I slept so well, the stress just disappeared it’s a fab location for walking and nature with a village in walking distance for basic amenities and a restaurant with friendly owners who also made our stay special, anyone looking for peace and quiet with helpful friendly hosts this is the place, can’t wait to return again. Summary: Charming and cosy cottage, you could fall in love with. The owners made us feel welcome from the start. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful nature and endless stars in the night. The air we breaved was clean, the area peaceful and quiet. We surely will come back and would like to recommend it as a healthy and peaceful miracle

Summary: We had the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday in this beautiful gite. From the moment you arrive, Rachel and Jamie make you feel so welcome and they couldn't be more helpful. The gite itself has been lovingly restored to feel cosy and rustic yet has everything you need, even down to the herbs growing outside! We had lots of lovely walks in the surrounding countryside which is as pretty and quiet as you'd hope and the village (only a short walk away) has a little supermarket and a bar. If it weren't for the fact that there are lots of other lovely places to go and explore, there'd be no need to leave! We'll definitely return!

Summary: In a very charming and well renovated typical house, we spent a pleasant week. The owners, Rachel & James are very friendly. The region is nice, quiet, but at some places suffers from a lack of activity. I will recommend this property to people looking for very quiet holiday -what we were looking for :)

Summary: The most beautiful, magical place in the Creuse we have ever been. Very comfortable and quiet gîtes, passionated, lovely and helpful owners who know so much about the area and are more then willing to share and tell you where to go , what do to and where to eat! Great place to discover the secrets of the Creuse and to "' charge batteries".

Summary: We went to the Limousin for a short break in spring. The weather was amazing and Rachel and Jamie's gite was perfect. Jamie and Rachel are very welcoming and helpful. Fresh logs every day and local eggs and honey if you want them. A very cosy place to stay in a lovely area well situated for convenience but also the beauty of the Limousin. We self catered most of the time but also sample Rachel's lasagne and the family's hospitality. Food was great and we feel like we made friends too. We will definitely be returning here at the next available opportunity.

Summary: My husband and I came here from California for our honeymoon and even though it was a bit cold for the middle of summer, we had a great time. The gite is very comfortable for a couple or young family and the wood burning stove kept us comfortable on the cold rainy days. We also enjoyed chatting with the owners who gave us a great perspective on the region and a welcome break from using our mangled French on the locals. Giloush (sp?) the wonder dog was also a fun companion and a good scout on our guided tour of the property.

Summary: What a lovely, perfect cottage to spend peaceful time in the French countryside. Our host Rachel and James were the warmest couple ever, not to mention there adorable sons Joshua and Louis, melt my heart. We were aiming to arrive late evening and opted for "dinner with the family". The evening was a bit blustery and Rachel's homemade lasagna was absolutely wonderful and Turley hit the spot. We had a great time chatting during dinner, sharing our French adventures. The whole family is very knowledgable about the area and gave us several ideas of places to go and see, things to do. I just can't say enough.... Well on to the stone cottage..... With our bellies full we headed off to the cutest cottage ever. Jamie and Rachel have done the renovations themselves and the detail and care put into the workmanship is incredible. It is warm, cozy and inviting. The living area had a table that sat 4 easily and the kitchen is very functional. We cooked quite a few meals and the pantry had spices you could use. The cottage is heated by a wood stove and your wood box is restocked daily by Jamie. I loved the bathroom.... Beautiful bowl sink..... Copper piping holding up the shower curtain. Upstairs there is a large queen bed as well as a single. Both were comfortable. I will defiantly be coming back here to stay in the years to come. We have made life long friends and can't wait to come back. Oh.... They also have the most wonderful yellow lab, Galoush. One more note.... During our visit the wisteria was in full bloom and it was absolutely breathtaking!
