Positive: A really beautiful building and we love the character and history of this place. The gardens are really beautiful and it is such a peaceful place to stop on our long journey from the South of France back to the UK. The owner is kind and welcoming and the breakfast was amazing, with a kind gentleman going above and beyond to find us honey for our yoghurt!

Negative: I do not mind the old fashioned decor - in fact I quite like it and love that they have not just thrown out the old furniture and replaced it with Ikea. The only issue was that we did have our suspicions that the sheets on some of the beds weren't fresh. It seems really unlikely that a hotel wouldn't change the sheets when it is so easy to do and is surely the first thing a guest is going to comment on so it's hard to believe, but unfortunately they just did not appear to be freshly laundered.

Positive: This is definitely an untypical place to stay, absolutely charming and unique. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. Definitely give it a go if you are not looking for the typical hotel stays or sleepovers, but would like to explore the charm of rural countryside France.

Positive: Very charming place, beautiful property and very friendly English speaking host. Breakfast was very basic but ok. Close to the motorway, great stopover location. Lovely village of Dourdan is close with a selection of places for an evening meal.

Negative: Shower was shabby and shower head didn’t stay on wall, sanitary ware seen better days. But overall historic feel of the place made up for it.

Summary: Charming and rustic stay, fine for one night.
