Covid -19: A disinfectant product approved by the Direcion General de Salud Publica is used throughout both our properties, Lemon Tree and Castle View, prior to occupancy. The application extends beyond bathroom and kitchen utilities, to door handles, light switches, and all manual surfaces.
Lovely spacious split level accommodation in the historic area to sleep 4. High walled private quarry tiled garden with own private plunge pool: for summer use, al fresco dining areas, large rustic chimney barbecue and central feature lemon tree. Sunbathing area: Hi-comfort sunbeds and horizontal sunbeds. Delightful, completely private outdoor area for day and evening enjoyment.
The property is converted in authentic Catalan design using rustic materials. Large and stylish family bathroom contains twin white pedestal sinks with full wall indent mirror, large terracotta arched walk in double shower with body spray. White push button WC.
Two double bedrooms at either end of the property for privacy. A+++ air conditioning in both bedrooms with UV protective double glazing for extra cool in the summer. Plenty of high power stand up portable fans in the living area plus double ceiling fans in the kitchen.
Warm air heating and Eco central heating (bathroom) for the Winter period, with high tog king size duvets provided.
Two large sofas in central lounging area, flat screen TV with DVD player and MP3 player. Small DVD and English book library.
Marble step up through arch to enormous farmhouse style kitchen featuring wide raised dining bar seating (for 6) and cooking area: large stainless steel fridge/freezer, 5 hob s/steel catering cooker, s/steel dishwasher, washing machine and antique stone sink. Steps leading to garden from kitchen.

Summary: Wonderful place to stay in old part of Antequera. Great property - extremely clean. Lots of room with all the amenities you come to expect these days with air conditioning and good wifi. Great communication with Rupert our host. I would highly recommend.

Summary: We were very happy with the property overall. It is very spacious and generally very peaceful with free on-street parking within a few minutes’ walk. There is a little house shop in the next street for essentials and a great bar (La Socorrilla) up the hill for tasty and very reasonably priced food and drinks. (We heartily recommend the mixed tapas at €12 for an enormous pot-luck assortment.) The kitchen is great for home cooking but you have to provide your own oil, vinegar, pepper, spices, etc. Unfortunately we did find the bed in the front bedroom a little uncomfortable and rather short so it might not suit a six-footer. Also, on several days we were disturbed by the neighbours’s radio on a very high volume, which particularly affected the front bedroom during the day. Nevertheless we would happily recommend this property to friends and family - especially those with a reasonable level of fitness for tackling the layout of Antequera.

Summary: We had a fantastic holiday staying at the Lemon Tree in Antiquera. The property is well equipped and with its traditional decor and delightful terrace & plunge pool, makes for a great base to explore Antiquera & it’s surrounding area. The town (quiet, with few tourists, but also very steep in parts!)) has a fantastic Alcazaba with stunning views & lots of good restaurants. We loved the walks & scenery in El Torcal, the local national park. It’s also a great base for Córdoba, Granada, Seville & Ronda- all easily accessible. Our hosts were very helpful & friendly. We would highly recommend the Lemon Tree.

Summary: Spacious, very well-equipped with pleasant private patio. The owners are friendly and helful. The apartment is in a quiet area which is a short distance from the centre via a very steep hill, or a fair walk away via the road which runs round the castle. Antequera is well worth a visit, but you'll need a car to really enjoy it.

Summary: This was a lovely apartment, clean, homely and just as described. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to cafes, restaurants and shops. Antequera is a hidden gem. It is well located to access lots of interesting sites and towns. But Antequera stands on it's own, as a destination in it's own right. A truly beautiful place. Thank you to our lovely hosts Rupert and Melanie. Nothing was too much trouble.

Summary: This Spanish-style apartment was the perfect spot for my husband and I to welcome my 80-year-old mother for a taste of Andalusia! Melanie and Rupert were very congenial hosts with a great space attached to their home. We had all we needed in the kitchen for cooking and the two bedrooms at each end of the apartment offered privacy and peaceful quiet sleeps. The beds were very comfortable. It was wonderful also to have the lemon tree garden for lunch and a sunny reading spot, even in December! We really enjoyed our dinner out at Leila’s in town and the tour of the Alcazaba. El Torcal and Ronda were also must visit places in the area. Highly recommend!
