French doors open into the sitting room, with a sofa facing out to the garden and a large skylight for stargazing. LOCAL AREA:
Gay Street is a tiny hamlet, yet home to three acclaimed vineyards and Wine Estates. Nutbourne, Nyetimber and Ambriel Sparkling are all within walking distance (ticketed open days only at Nyetimber), and there are no less than 10 quality vineyards within 10 miles. Beer and ale enthusiasts can enjoy Hepworth and Greyhound Breweries both within 3 miles. Stock up on local produce at Dyke Farm Shop a mile away, and there is also a large Sainsbury’s and Tesco at Pulborough. Further afield there is an abundance of places to visit including Petworth, Arundel and the picturesque South Downs.

Summary: Library Cottage is a bijou residence set in the heart of the West Sussex countryside. The owners have lavished every comfort and convenience upon it and it is hard to think what else one could wish for. Despite the weather, we spent a very pleasant five days exploring the surrounding countryside; in warmer months, residents would have the exclusive use of a very attractive walled garden. We would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Library Cottage set within a beautiful walled garden. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and our hosts Chris and Liz were friendly and welcoming. It was a busy week as there are many attractions in the area.

Summary: We enjoyed a lovely week at Libary Cottage, whose location manages to be both close to everything you need but quiet and remote at the same time. It is ideal for exploring the west of Sussex with easy access to the coast and inland places of interest. Liz and Chris were so so nice and helpful and went out of their way to ensure everything was just right for our vist. The fruit and veg from the garden was very welcome.You won't find a better location for slowing down and relaxing....but there are also plenty of paths for walking(or running) straight out of the door.True to the name, there is plenty of reading material! We look forward to a return visit. Recommended.

Summary: Our second time at Library Cottage and returning certainly did not disappoint. This really is a place to relax and unwind, a lovely cottage surrounded by the most beautiful private garden and with vineyards all around. The cottage itself is cosy and clean with everything we needed for our long weekend. I especially love the bedroom which is so serene with windows to the garden. Our hosts were again so welcoming and warm.

Summary: A perfect location for running and walking, with great footpaths a very short walk from the cottage. The weather was ideal for our stay, and we particularly enjoyed eating outside in the beautiful garden, and drinking wine flights among the vines in the Nutbourne Vineyard a few hundred metres walk away. The cottage itself was well equipped and comfortable, and Liz and Chris were very friendly.

Summary: We loved our time at Library Cottage - with such lovely owners and everything we needed in the cottage - it was a truly enjoyable stay. Our only negative was that we didn't plan to stay longer! The cottage sits on narrow country roads which do take a little time to get used to if you're not acquainted with that style of road, but it is a perfect location to explore the South Downs, with beautiful vineyards within walking distance too! The cottage itself is very comfortable with everything you could need available to make your stay enjoyable, including outdoor chairs for use in your own little garden and plenty of books to read. We loved all the small touches around the cottage to make our stay more enjoyable. Definitely a holiday home we would visit again, especially as there is so much more in the area we didn't get to explore.

Summary: Library Cottage is a great little place in beautiful surroundings with really lovely hosts. We visited for easy access to some of the local vineyards and it was perfectly situated for that. The cottage had everything we needed, some really interesting books to read and a great garden for enjoying. We even got to watch a meteor shower on our last night.

Summary: The cottage had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed either relaxing in it or looking at it out of the French windows. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Ideal location to enjoy the South Downs with plenty of walks locally and further afield.

Summary: Just want you need on holiday. A relaxing cottage to sit on the sofa and enjoy looking out onto the wonderful garden. The bed was very comfortable and warm. It was great to have such a vast collection of books to explore. Hosts Chris and Liz were very welcoming and were interested in making sure we had eveything we wanted during our stay. The tv is small but we never used it. No need to watch tv when you have books and a garden to enjoy. We visited a pub about 4 miles away which was lovely and worth a visit.
