Positive: Great location to visit local attractions of cheddar gorge and wookey hole.Arrival and check in/out was easy with the key lock box. The lodge living and dining area was spacious and comfortable to relax in. The shower was great- very powerful! The outside decking was brilliant in the sunshine and an enclosed lawn was great for the children to play on.

Negative: As a self catering chalet it might be helpful to have more crockery/cutlery and kitchen equipment (e.g. bread knife, oven gloves, spare tea towels, mixing bowls, larger frying pan).

Summary: Very comfortable and well located lodge to explore the local area.

Positive: Originally staying for two nights. We were under the impression that it was on a farm so a little disappointed to find out that there wasn’t much to do. The cafe was a bonus but this felt overpriced for what it was. I have to agree with the other reviews regarding the beds. This is why we had to cut our stay short. The beds were really hard, a soft mattress topper would help. The lodges are lovely but it’s close to a busy road so the car noise is a lot, if you want peace. We had tea bags, coffee, sugar, biscuits and milk left but they felt basic.

Positive: The staff were great, nothing too much trouble. The lodge was spotless and very comfortable for 4 adults sharing.

Negative: The WI-FI didn't work for us at all. Although the staff tried very hard to get any connection we were unable to use any phones , iPads or laptops. This meant we were not able to contact anyone or be contacted when we were ay the lodge.

Summary: Really nice lodge. There were 4 adults in the group and we all had a great stay. No WI-FI.

Positive: The lodge was cosy. The cafe next door is great. The lodge is right round the corner from the Cheddar Gorge. Plenty of parking.

Negative: It was a little small for us with nowhere to put towels after 4 of us had used the shower. The road is a little noisy . There is no electric charge point for an electric car and none in the area. The double bed isn't long enough if you are 6 ft tall!

Positive: Lodge was very comfortable for a family of four.Private decking and access to grassed area in front with picnic benches. We were only there for three nights but a very pleasant place to stay within a few minutes drive of Cheddar. Breakfast available in cafe. We had a lodge and our own cooking facilities so only had breakfast in the cafe on one day but this was very good and friendly service.

Negative: The oven didn’t appear to work. However, this did not present a problem for us as we had hob and microwave. It may have been us not operating properly, and not reported until leaving. I’m sure if I had reported earlier someone would have looked at it as staff we met were very helpful and friendly.

Summary: Lovely few days away in Somerset.
