Nestled quietly amongst the trees, you will find this charming two-bedroom cottage located
on the fringe of Arakoon National Park.
With Little Bay beach and picnic area at your back door and nearby attractions such as Trial
Bay Gaol, Laggers Point, and the Smoky Cape Lighthouse only a few minutes away, this is the
perfect escape for a weekend of bushwalking, fishing, swimming, and exploring.
The cottage boasts an open plan kitchen, dining, and lounge that spills out through glass
doors to the deck area. You can cook your dinner on the Gas BBQ while relaxing on the
deck.
The main bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has 3 single beds consisting
of a set of bunks and a trundle. The bathroom features a separate toilet and the laundry is
located downstairs underneath the house with a washing machine and dryer.
This cottage is in the perfect position for a short hike across to Trial Bay Gaol via Monument
Hill walking track and finish the loop back via the Bridle Trail or Powder Magazine track.
Monument Hill is a haven for bird watchers with fantails, wrens, and honeyeaters fluttering
about while hawks, falcons, and ospreys soar above the cliffs and forage along the beaches.
Also, at the right time of year, Little Bay is the perfect whale watching location.
Wildlife is in abundance in the area, however please ensure you keep your distance and
admire from afar. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited as it is detrimental to the health and
wellbeing of our precious fauna.
Please note that sheets and towels are not supplied but can be hired for an additional
fee by contacting our office. Strictly no pets are allowed on the property, as the property is
within Arakoon National Park.
Little Bay cottage is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Don't forget to pack your swimmers, sun cream, snorkels and bug spray of course!

Summary: From the moment we arrived at Little Bay Cottage, we felt right at home. A helpful tip for future guests: if you’re arriving in a larger car, we recommend reversing up East Street and into the driveway — we did this from day one and it made coming and going incredibly easy. The cottage itself is set in a truly magical spot. One morning, we were lucky enough to spot a koala lounging in a tree just off the back verandah — right on the property! Kangaroos regularly visited nearby, kookaburras provided a classic Aussie soundtrack, and a walk along the Little Bay Beach bush track even treated us to dolphin sightings. Inside, the cottage is all about slowing down and soaking in the moment. We loved unwinding with books from the shelf, watching DVDs, tuning in to free-to-air TV, and spending time together with the games and puzzles provided. Everything was clean, comfy, and well set up — from the beds and bathroom to the lounge and kitchen. The shower head, which was mentioned in a previous review, looked brand new to us and worked perfectly. The BBQ was easy to use, and the kitchen had everything we needed for relaxed meals. There’s a small patch of internet reception on the far side of the double bed — just enough to look up your next adventure. But honestly, this is the kind of place where you’ll want to disconnect. And don’t miss Little Bay Beach at sunrise — it’s pure magic. If we could buy this place and keep it forever, we would!

Reviewer Comments: The location is wonderful, can't be beaten for bush location so close to the beach. We came across many large cockroaches in the cabin. The main living areas where clean but the utensils, cooking ware and plates were grimy. I was surprised at the 9am check out, guests to put out the rubbish and bring bins to the curb on a Sunday night, dishes to be dried and put away and guests to supply own linen and soaps.. given there is a $130 cleaning fee.These things didn't take away from the beautiful surroundings and local walks. But it does seem a bit rich to ask guests to do all these things and checkout unusually early. Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again.

It's a basic but comfirtable cottage and the location is great, just a 5 minute walk to Littel Bay Beach and the headland walks and it is only a few minutes drive to town. The only complaint is the bad smell from the toilet, of urine, which we don;t think was cleaned prior to our arrival. Not ideal but otherwise we had a great stay.
