Positive: Please ignore my previous review which was for a very different property in France . This review is for little pound house: Lovely looking old & quirky cottage in a most beautiful area with lots of really quiet rural walks. Cottage has a small but functional kitchen. Steep wooden stairs, comfy bed & a lovely bath with an abundance of hot water. Clean property. Access to a huge shared garden with great views. Welcome bottle of wine. Friendly hosts.
Negative: The property is part of two acomodations in one building (semi) with the hosts in what looks like the wrap around section & guests stay in the other part. There was an old gate style door with a gap at the bottom (In the picture it's the one next to the arm chair. The other doors are one for the stairs & other for the kitchen) This door, although bolted on both sides, linked the guests & hosts living areas. Had we known this beforehand it is unlikely we would have booked, as we do not want to be so close as to hear other people's daily activities. We were surprised & disheartened to find we could clearly hear our hosts in their kitchen as the sound (& smell) of their cooking, talking, clocks chiming, coughing & phone ringing came through loud & clear into our section. The pictures show a lovely seating area outside double doors looking over fields but this their seating area & although when we arrived we were offered the use of this area while they were at work, it was a bank holiday weekend and they were at home. Plus you have to go round the other side of the house. There was also a shared garden with the hosts & an additional guest staying in a shepherd hut half way down the garden, so not exactly private. Acces to the hosts property and the shepherd hut was past our door & lounge window. Also the bins were right outside our door so this was a busy area & not relaxing to have people passing so close & often. We did find a semi secluded spot right at the end of the garden where we relaxed for a lovely very sunny afternoon. Front door sticks on the floor so you have to give it a good shove to get in or out. Gets a bit frustrating after a day or so. This is an easy fix. Just shave some wood off the bottom of the door. Please.

Positive: Very peaceful location. Large garden with lovely views. The house has lots of character and period features and the owner has done a fantastic job of making the most of the space available.
Negative: The cooking facilities were a bit basic and the kitchen was very narrow, but it was adequate for our weekend stay. The staircase was very steep and narrow but it is original to the property and shouldn’t be changed - just need to take care.
Summary: Lovely period house in a peaceful location, with a very helpful and welcoming host.

Positive: We had the most wonderful stay at the cottage with Donna and Pete as our hosts – it was the perfect escape! The beautiful gardens and surrounding land made it feel like a peaceful retreat, and everything about the place was just so charming and well thought out. Donna and Pete were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. You can really tell they care about making your stay special. The cottage itself had everything we needed – the bed was super comfy, the bathroom was dainty and sweet, and the lovely warm log burner made it so cosy in the evenings. The kitchen was practical and well-equipped, and we loved having both indoor and outdoor seating areas to relax in. There was also convenient parking, and the location is perfect – close to plenty of scenic walks and lovely towns to explore. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely be back soon for another relaxing holiday!
Negative: That I couldn’t stay long enough !

Positive: Very cosy cottage, tastfully decorated with lots of extra touched. Great wifi! Lovely woodburning stove with generous amount of wood supplied. V comfy bed, luxurious freestanding bath...Hosts are super friendly and welcomed us as we arrived. Didn't see that again as had no need to but felt as if we could disturb them if need be
Negative: Kitchen is very compact (as stated) but ate out most nights so didn't really matter. Great garden to sit in if weather allows.

Positive: Lovely Location, very friendly & helpful hosts and a lovely timber framed cottage. Very easy and comfortable, the bed is particularly comfy! Lots to do in the local area or you can just watch the sunsets from the large garden looking out over the neighbouring fields.
Negative: The kitchen is basic but does everything you need.
Summary: We wanted a comfortable place in a nice place - and it met all expectations!
