*There are NEIGHBORS on both sides, which are closer than may originally appear. We ask that our guests stay ONLY in the area directly in front of the cottage. The cottage is surrounded by private land with private cottages. Having good relationships with our neighbors is important to us.
Grab the fellas or gals and the snowmobiles or ATVs and head on up to Lost Lake Getaway. This spacious one-level home is comfortable with a wood-burning fireplace for you to enjoy. With great views of the lake, you will love waking up, visiting the stocked coffee bar, and gazing out onto the sunrise. Just added-- a private dock in front of your Lost Lake Getaway!
Lost Lake Getaway comes with a fully-equipped kitchen (NO STOVE, ONLY COOK TOP), dining area, living room, one and a half baths and four bedrooms. This log home is ideal for an active getaway.
Lost Lake Getaway can also be rented with the property right next door, Lost Lake Chalet, or it can be rented separately. In total, both places could sleep 12+ in beds comfortably.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Air Conditioning: Not at this time. There is a ceiling fan in each bedroom and four or so throughout the home.
ATV's: YES, they are allowed! However, no driving on the lawn…only on the driveway. There are ORV trails nearby, just 15 minutes away and if you are savvy, you are able to take the back roads to get there.
Animals: Deer, bald eagles, variety of birds, squirrels. The basics for Michigan!
Bathroom:
Bathroom #1: Full-bathroom with shower only
Bathroom #2: Half-bath
Beach/Swimming: It is a sandy bottom lake. Lost Lake, at its deepest, is 17 feet. By the property there is a very shallow drop off, so it is great for small kids. The swimming area is laid out as such: Grass, to 20 feet of sand, to sandy-bottom lake. There is a swim platform for your use, it is also shared with the vacation rental next door.

Boat: There are 2 adult and 2 youth kayaks available for you to use during your stay. Please bring life jackets from home (as those are not one size fits all) Boats are put away for the winter the first weekend in October!
Boat launch: Within a mile of the Getaway, you can find the Lost Lake Boat Launch which is right across the lake.
Bugs: Typical Michigan bugs.
Cell phone service: AT&T=nonexistent. Very spotty service.
Coffee Pot: Regular drip and Keurig available

Fire-pit: Yes!
Fireplace: One fire burning fireplace in the living room. The second fireplace in the dining room is not usable.
Fishing: Crappie, Bass, and Northern Pike are flowing in Lost Lake!
Fishing poles: Please bring your own pole. Little kids' poles may be available.
Games: Shuffleboard is shared between both cabins
Grill: Propane grill provided. Fuel provided.
Grocery Store: Family Fare is 15 minutes away
Internet: Yes! Internet is available.
Kitchen: Fridge, cook top, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven with air fryer (NO OVEN)
Lake: This in NOT an all-sports lake. Fishing boats with small motors and pontoon boats are allowed. Jet skis and ski boats are NOT allowed.
Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.
Neighbors: Please adhere to the property boundary line (to the left of Chalet if looking out at the water) separated by a split rail fence. The land down the road is private property and not public land for hiking or exploring. There are Private Property signs up at the beach, driveway and along their yard. Please be conscientious of the nearby neighbors, especially on the driveway. You are within a cottage community. Please, no loud music or smoking either inside or outside the cabin. We have other places for you if you would like to blast or smoke your favorites while on vacation.
Parking: The driveway is on a hill and at the end of the hill you can park in front of the Getaway: 2 cars MAX or just one truck/trailer combo. Be advised that parking is tight and the driveway separates the swimming area from the home, so little kids need to be escorted. There is no extra room for visitor's cars.
Pets: Guests are not permitted to bring pets.
Privacy: Wedged in between the Lost Lake Chalet and another home. However it does have a private yard (not fenced). There is NO extra space for campers or tents.
Smoking: Cigarette or recreational is not permitted at this property (Cabins are too close together). Any violation may result in the guest asked to depart with no refund given.
Space: 1-floor. Since the front yard is small, tents and campers are NOT permitted.
Televisions: TV with DVD player. No cable provided!
Towels: Yes, we provide bath towels. It's always good to bring extra though. Please bring your own beach towels.
Washer and dryer: Yes, guests are open to using the washer and dryer. Laundry soap is provided.
Water: water is well water, so some guests may prefer to bring their own bottled water
Wood: Guests will need to purchase wood either at the grocery in Rogers City or on their way up to the home along the side of the road.
