The Lotus is a remote, two bed, one bath, tiny-house-on-wheels located just 10 mins from Big Basin State Park in Boulder Creek, CA. This home was thoughtfully designed down to the inch. It is a place to fuel inspiration or to simply take a break from the constant pull of the modern world.
There is a king-sized primary bedroom with sliding doors for privacy and a lofted full-sized bedroom accessible by ladder. Cook to your heart's content in the surprisingly roomy and fully stocked kitchen, or fire up the charcoal BBQ out on deck. The loungy center of the home provides access to the large sunset-facing deck with amazing views, and a path leading to a luxurious spa from which to enjoy the cool, starry night.
Access our private ridge-top trail. At the summit, discover tremendous views of the surrounding valleys and the perfect place to watch the sunrise.
* We lost our previous tiny home on this spot to the wildfire of 2020 (you can read about how our past guests enjoyed that home under our other listing ), and The Lotus is a renewed and improved version 2.0. We hope it will delight even more. Around the property you will see signs of the burn mixed within fresh growth and new greens.

You will have a whole corner of our property to yourself, secluded and private. It is a very spacious area with gravel driveway and paths, deck, hot tub, and the tiny home.
You are also welcomed to hike on our ridge top trail, which starts right behind the home on our private grounds (but does go through other properties, a diversity of forests, for ~1.5-2hrs until joining the main road in town).
The pool on the property is a two minutes walk away and you are welcomed to enjoy it.
Your host lives onsite in the larger home at the top. It is quite some distance away so the tiny home is visually and spatially secluded.

Summary: A perfect get away for you and your spouse. This home has everything you need to escape reality. We loved watching the sunset in the hot tub and climbing the hill in the morning to watch the sun rise and fog roll over the hills. The home was very clean and well thought out to make your stay easy. My only suggestion would be better seating inside for cold or rainy days. Not a lot of room to eat inside or sit in a cozy chair to relax. Other than that it was PERFECT!! Quick drive to several state parks and Santa Cruz.

Summary: The Lotus and its property manager Kimberley deserve 6 stars. We've stayed in many lovely VRBO's over the years, and this stay somehow rose above them all. The experience was as much of a private spa as a home stay. The location, property, tiny house, amenities, and Kimberley's attention exuded peaceful luxury. Every detail has been attended to. We look forward to coming back.

Summary: From the beginning to end the Lotus was absolutely amazing. The views were stunning. The home was in brand new condition! The bed was comfy and the amenities, such as the pool, hot tub, deck, kitchen & sleeping quarters were hands down top notch. We live in Western Maryland I. The mountains so we were excited to see what the west coast mountains were like and we were not disappointed! While there we visited Santa Cruz, Big Basin, Monterey & Big Sur. We finished our west coast trip by driving down the coast to San Diego (highway was closed after a Big Sur)

Summary: My partner and I desperately needed to get away from the craziness of city life, we were seeking to disconnect but we found so much more. We found serenity at the Lotus, the place was very clean and provided for everything that we needed. Words cannot express enough at how breathtaking the views were, the pictures do it no justice. We've probably had the best sleep of our lives on that mattress (so much so we had to ask for the brand). Kimberly, the property manager, was so easy to communicate with and was so helpful. Thank you so much for the peace you've provided us, we will definitely be back again!

Summary: My wife and I rented this property for a 2 night stay for an anniversary. Everything about the stay was perfect. The treats upon arrival, the incredible sweeping views, the pool during the day and hot tub at night. Also the close location to great hiking at Big Basin. We can’t wait until we have the chance to return. It feels as though you have the entire side of the mountain to yourself in complete peace and tranquility. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get a little R&R to recharge away from it all.

Summary: My husband and I chose this beautiful spot to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it was just what we were looking for. It is very private, and just the right size cabin. The host was very accommodating, and respected our privacy. The power did go.out while we were there and the host kept in communication with us throughout. It's a lovely spot, I highly recommend it.

Summary: We are a couple who were looking for a quiet getaway with views. Lotus exceeded our expectations. The little house was spotless, the king bed was very comfortable, and the views were beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and several games of cornhole. The kitchen was convenient and there are nice restaurants a short drive away that we also took advantage of. Kimberly was extremely easy to communicate with and went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay. We will definitely recommend and hope to be back soon.

Summary: What a lovely stay at the Lotus Little House. Beautifully decorated and super well appointed. Everything you need. Very comfortable bed and nice linens. All of the accommodations were great. Hot tub sparkling clean. Beautiful big deck with comfortable seating. My only suggestion would be a bit more seating inside. I would book again!
