On lake Como hills, overlooking Mezzegra Centro Lago, this unique property is surrounded by green fields, olive grove, nature and peace providing total privacy! Ideal for a relaxing holiday, still not too far from the centre and the lake. Enjoy the big garden with tables, chairs, offering amazing views. The barn has been tastefully renovated, with traditional fitting such as stones and wooden elements. While you are here you can enjoy good hiking trails and easily reach climbing spots: just behind the house is a short trail that brings you to the climbing face. The property position makes this place unique!
It is located 10-15 minutes’ walk from the parking, part of the path to reach it is steep. We assist you when you arrive, bringing you up to the site with your luggage with our 4x4 small car. We will assist you than for the departure in the same way. If you need a lift during your stay (for example when you have heavy purchases such as food and beverages with you), that can be agreed previously, upon availability of the driver.
When you are in Mezzegra, you can easily visit the beautiful surrounding area with beautiful Villa Carlotta museum and gardens, Villa Balbianello, Bellagio and Varenna taking a boat or a ferry over, everything is only a short drive away. The lake and beaches are not far as well. In the centre of the village you will find a supermarket, a baker, bars and restaurants.
We really love it here and look forward to sharing this place and its beautiful landscape with people who will enjoy it as well as we do.

Summary: This summer we spent 4 days at this house and let me tell you that it really stole our hearts . . The actual house is so charming and we loved that has a second floor. It was just perfect, and the best part? The most amazing view we ever saw and also the owners are so sweet and helpful. You will love staying there.

Summary: Illaria's farmhouse was an excellent find! We very much enjoyed staying there, it had the nicest views of como and being near the center of the lake, was close to Mennagio and Villa Del Balbiano. It is a hike to get to and from the property but the privacy is worth it.

Summary: Such a beautiful location, yes the hill is a bit of a killer the first time... but so worth it for the amazing views! We loved our cosy stay at Ilaria’s place. We took our 1 year old, who was catered for perfectly, Ilaria kindly set up a cot and high chair. Check in and out were seamless, we couldn’t have asked for more.

Summary: This place is being recommended to all our friends. WE had the most amazing time spent here high above the western shore of Lake Como. To call this a renovated barn is a disservice. It was a barn once, but now is the most charming cottage with the most amazing views I've ever seen. Each morning waking up and looking out the front door was better than the previous! My only wish was that we spent more than 3 nights here. It was a short drive to see the town of Como. Paid the extra 5 euros for the fast boat and made it to Bellagio in 10 minutes! There were some fantastic restaurants within walking distance from the cottage. Beware- the slope is relatively steep, but even an out of shape 52 y/o with bad knees didn't have any trouble. Illaria and her husband were very accommodating in giving up a ride up the steep hill later the night we arrived after dinner took longer than expected and it was very dark and didn't know our way around very well.

Summary: Ilaria and her family are really nice and helpful hosts and we had such a nice stay! The view, the cottage and the surroundings are so beautiful and we had a great time. We can recomment this place to everyone who loves Nature, quiet surroundings and although near Lake Como! Everything was fine! Thank you for a perfect stay

Summary: This property is truly one of a kind. It was very clear to us that the owners have a high level of "pride of ownership", and have made this location an oasis and retreat away from the noise of locations closer to the main street. Be prepared for a climb, which, with all the great food we ate in Lake Como, was a great way to burn extra calories! The owners are very helpful, friendly, and eager to serve. The barn is quite comfortable and cool in the summer, and we appreciated the newness of everything. Plentiful hot water for showering, a large kitchen area with every appliance we needed, and beautiful views from every window. There are no closets, so be prepared to hang your clothes from hooks and stairway banisters, or just leave them in your suitcase. This wasn't a problem for us and added to the charm.

Summary: The property was amazing. Beautifully set, quiet and picturesque. The owners were lovely and helpful with everything. It was a great location to get out and about and we enjoyed the walk up from the car. It was definitely worth it for the stunning view. We would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be back!
