Positive: Though on a working farm there were no smelly cowsheds or the like near the house, we saw the farmer going about his business only twice all week and were left in peace, but able to contact by phone had we needed to. Fabulous views.

Negative: I made the mistake of looking up on Google Maps prior to our stay and the satelite view was of a neighbouring farm, which showed the house in the middle of various barns and outbuildings - nothing like Lower Cowden Farm, which is exactly like the picture on the listing.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed and would gladly go back!

Positive: I loved the house. It was clean and bright with stunning views and large rooms.

Negative: I didn't particularly like that the window cleaners came while we were there (just because I panicked that I got the dates wrong and we were meant to be gone) but that's really minor and it wouldn't deter me from booking it again.

Positive: Beautful peaceful location. Spacious house with 3 bathrooms/cloak rooms. Easy reach of Bakewell centre.

Negative: An extra comfortable chair in lounge would have been useful. 2 sofas a bit of a squeeze for 6 adults. A little updating of some furnishings and arwork would make the property even more attractive. Not everyone's taste is the same of course so this is obviously subjective.

Positive: Beautiful and peaceful surroundings just on the outskirts of Bakewell. We loved the house and everything worked perfectly well. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Negative: Nothing not to like but we would have liked some more bigger. Mugs for tea and dome better kitchen knives.

Positive: Amazing views. Great space. Peaceful. Friendly hosts. A nice 30-40 minute walk across fields in Bakewell. For a bigger walk or run, head the other way down into Ashford in the water and then up along a really lovely wide path towards Monsell Head . Handy for Aldi store to collect supplies - just a 5 minute drive.
