Positive: This place was a great NYC stay that was spacious enough for our group to stay in. It had really nice features like the standing balcony and sky lights, as well as a view of Brooklyn across the water! For out of towners, the sizing might be awkward, but nothing to fret over. It also had an abundant supply of towels, soap/bodywash, kitchenware, paper towels, etc. which I’ve realized is not necessarily common for every Airbnb/short term rental space.
Negative: It’s a 5 floor walk up property, which I was not aware of at all, and my sister has a disability and uses a scooter for long distance walking so the stairs were a challenge for her. I was able to leave her scooter at the top of the first floor stairs in the hallway with a note, and didn’t have any problems though. The owner was also not responsive at all once check-in time came. Like at all. And there were things that were damaged before we arrived, like a recessed light hanging from one of the ceilings and I never got a response about it to even acknowledge that they were aware, or that I wouldn’t be charged. We also arrived 15 minutes or so before the check in time we told them, and were scared when a launderer came to drop off more towels and had a key to the property, but again, not too bad in the grand scheme of things.
Summary: Overall, it was a great stay, a few hiccups here and there, but 4/5 stars for the 5 story walk up. Insane.
