Lubbers Leap! We invite you to take the leap at Lubbers Quarters Cay in Abaco, Bahamas. Lubbers Leap is nestled in palm trees on the east side of the island with a wonderful white sandy swimming beach just outside your doorstep. It is situated perfectly on the water’s edge to take full advantage of the trade winds of the islands. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sea of Abaco from the open living space and semi-private dock (shared by only 2 other houses on the island). All conveniently located just minutes from shopping, restaurants, and world-class deep-sea fishing.
Renovated post-Dorian Lubbers Leap is a traditional Bahamian style cottage with 2 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and a bonus bunk room for the kids. The upstairs open living space connects you with the outdoors for true island living and provides for great entertaining or peaceful solitude. The bedrooms are both private and equipped with air conditioning for those warm nights on the island. It features a fully equipped kitchen, a large outdoor sun deck, and a protected beach for relaxing or letting the little ones swim. It also has a large dock where you can fish, swim, snorkel and most importantly, park your boat right outside your door.
Lubbers Quarters Cay is a gorgeous out-island located between Great Abaco and Elbow Cay in the Sea of Abaco on the Abaco Sound. Approximately 3 miles south of Hope Town, it is 1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide. Its protected shores and close proximity to deep water make it a boating and fishing paradise. It is centrally located and easily accessible for island hopping anywhere in the Abaco area. The island offers secluded beaches, fly fishing flats, roads for walking or jogging, and lots of solitude. It is just minutes to dining and shopping, the best of everything……seclusion and convenience.
Lubbers Leap was also updated post-Dorian with a whole house solar system to ensure you have reliable power for your stay.

Summary: The house was perfect for our family of 5. Well stocked with all the supplies we could need. A/C and water heater worked great. Beds were super comfortable. Michael, the house caretaker, was awesome with helping us get to the house from Marsh Harbor. He was also available for any questions we had about things to do around the islands. If you like to get away from the hustle and crowds to enjoy quiet privacy, this place is for you.

Summary: Ha ha. Couldn't resist. This was actually a family vacation. The property was everything it was said to be. Abaco is beautiful. Go. Only thing I would add to the house would be some board games, cards, and paperbacks. Definitely call the Lubbers Bakery and enjoy Nancy's cooking. Also, it should be repeated: The upstairs of the house is accessed by an open stairway. Do not plan on bringing a toddler or preschooler here. You'd be paranoid the entire time.

Summary: Lubbers Leap is an amazing house from the location to the layout of the house to the decor and the view... OH. That. View! Easy access to/from the Sea of Abaco with a very nice dock and dolphin line. The a/c in the bedrooms works wonderfully and the beds were super comfy (I haven't slept that well in ages!). Upstairs you do not miss a/c as the trade winds keep it cool and there are plenty of fans if you need an additional breeze. The owner Cassandra was always quick to respond to any inquiries we had and the on site property manager, Laurie, was very helpful upon our arrival. We checked out Cracker P's the first night there and Riggi, the island dog, led us right there (it's about a mile hike but we enjoyed the walk). Beautiful landscaping around the house and we enjoyed watching the crabs and hummingbirds in the front of the house. Take time to stroll to the community dock on the opposite side of the island to enjoy a quiet sunset or snorkel - on the way there is a small community take one/leave one library if you are in need of some reading material. If you are considering this house, go ahead and take the leap - you won't regret it!

Summary: Our family trip to the Abacos was a dream. It was our first time and we'll definitely be back. Lubbers Leap is fantastic rental property and worked well for 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and 8 yrs old). It could even accommodate more people if needed. The property has the best of both worlds with a sandy beach and dock at your front door. We spent some days hanging around the house and other days exploring the other islands by boat. Overall, this is a great property. Well maintained, appointed and ready for your trip the Abacos.

Summary: Lubber's Leap - I can't begin to describe what a wonderful stay we had here! This house is a perfect set up for a family. Three bedrooms and the beds are so comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need. The view is incredible - we stayed on the screened in porch upstairs every morning having coffee and just breathing in the relaxation. Then we'd go downstairs and get in the swing and play with Lulu the neighborhood cat! The beach and the dock just add to the family enjoyment. Laurie met us very late on Friday when we FINALLY got there to show us around - very considerate. Thanks Cass for sharing this wonderful space with our family. Carol

Summary: What a beautiful location and home! This is obviously a very well maintained home with thought and effort put into all the small details. From the wonderful luxurious bedding to the beach chairs to the fully stocked kitchen and the comfortable furniture....everything was there to enjoy. The location is remote ...but that is the beauty. Turtles, stingrays and fish underneath the dock and a beautiful view to look at each day. Heaven...we’ll be back!!

Summary: We love Lubbers Leap so much that we've been there twice in the past 8 months! The home is well located, clean, and stocked with plenty of dishes, linens, beach towels, etc. This home is especially perfect for families as your kids will love fishing from the dock and swimming at the beach.
