This old stone barn has been converted to the very highest standards into a beautiful home. From the garden there are stunning views of the local hills and surrounding area. Outside there are 3 terrace areas and a swimming pool with an adjacent summer kitchen and dining area all very private for peaceful outdoor dining.
The house offers four bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms one of which is disable friendly. The master bedroom has a large bath as well as a shower in the bathroom. Two bedrooms also have french doors leading out to the lower terrace. The showers are 'Italian' style, walk-in showers and are all finished in marble.
The kitchen/dining area is huge, with french doors leading out onto one of two dining terraces. The kitchen has all the amenities, including two ovens, two refrigerators, two freezers and a dishwasher.
There is a separate laundry room with a washing machine and sink.
The spacious living room has views out to the pool and french doors out to the lower terrace. There is a flat-screen television, together with DVD and CD players, together with a selection of CD's, DVD's and books in the large bibliotek (bookcase). There are two large settees, a daybed and armchairs.
Natural swimming: There are two local lakes and a stunning rock pool for natural river swimming.

Summary: Lovely villa, very well équiped, both inside and out. The location was very peaceful, a car is a necessity as there is lots to see nearby.

Summary: A wonderful base for a holiday in this fantastic region. It was very hot this week (30-35) so the spacious coolness of the Gite and the full A/C were much appreciated! The pool is huge and the deck area a great place to relax. Tony and Jayne have equipped their property excellently… there is everything you could wish for, and it’s very helpful that the kitchen is stocked with essentials and dried ingredients because the nearest shop is in the next village. Guests are encouraged to ‘top up’ what they use which is a brilliant idea! We quickly learnt that as this is typical rural France the siesta is observed, something to be mindful of. There are some useful village restaurants around but you need to book! The countryside is beautiful around Le Grange, and the neighbours all very friendly. Thankyou so much!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in La Grange. The large sitting room and kitchen were great. Having 2 fridges was a real luxury, one for wine/drinks and the other for food. We made use of the lovely pool and barbecue. Having to use the car meant we visited the local villages and towns. We dined in Lagrasse on 2 evenings, the 1900 was great with the large barbecue in the courtyard and also Le Bastion - a “fine dining restaurant” with a very cheery waitress! Mme at the Casino in Montlaur stocked everything we needed and the small market on Tuesday evening was worth the visit for the bread.

Summary: We loved staying at La Grange. It is a large, beautifully finished, luxurious property and we thoroughly enjoyed the space, peaceful location and wonderful outside space. The beautiful pool area and outside kitchen were an absolute bonus for our holiday, meaning that we could enjoy relaxing days by the pool as well as going out to explore the immense variety offered by this region of France. Thanks to Jayne and Tony for sharing their lovely property with us and making the whole process of booking and communication warm, flexible and welcoming. Thanks also to Phil as local property manager for his welcome and support. It has been a delight to start to explore this wonderful and relatively untouched region!

Summary: We had a great time staying at La Grange, it is an excellent property that is very well appointed. The property manager is excellent and the booking process and access to the property was extremely efficient. Would highly recommend at stay at La Grane.

Summary: We had a great time at Villetritouls. Lovely pool, Really spacious kitchen allowed all the family to get involved with the cooking. Nicely appointed bedrooms. It was fairly hot on several days we were there and we were very grateful for the excellent air conditioning. Our Hosts were very helpful with a local handyman to keep on top of things. All in all a great holiday

Summary: When we arrived at the house the 8-year-old in our party said 'It's a mansion!', and that was before he saw the pool. The house was perfect for our party - large and comfortable communal areas (including a great kitchen with giant table), quiet and comfortable bedrooms each with a great shower/bathroom. The temperature was up to 38* for some of our stay and we really appreciated the air conditioning, which is in every room. There's a good choice of outdoor seating areas so shade could be found most of the time. The village is quiet, the locals friendly and the surroundings, mainly vineyards and wooded hills, are beautiful. Nearby Lagrasse was our favourite for shopping or coffee and croissants. The jewel in the crown of this house is the pool area, where we spent most of our time. The pool itself is good for both swimming and playing. It isn't over-chlorinated and is topped up and cleaned halfway through the week. The outdoor kitchen and barbecue area includes fridge and dishwasher and there's a separate loo and shower room - real luxuries. The whole area is lockable so very safe for children. We appreciated the thoughtful little touches - a welcome pack of goodies, sharp kitchen knives, extra fridge capacity (for all the wine), comfy couches (unusual in a holiday house in our experience) and UK TV channels - which were the icing on a very nice cake.

Summary: The property itself is lovely and exactly as it is described, it is quite remote and therefore a car is absolutely required, even for fetching the basics such as bread. We really appreciated the fact that it has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. If you want quiet and seclusion then this is a great place for a relaxing and tranquil holiday...

Summary: The property is a perfect holiday home for a family or a group of friends with all the rooms having luxurious en suite facilities. It has the most wonderful kitchen which provides the perfect place for dinner at the end of a lazy day by the pretty pool. We had lovely lunches outside the summer kitchen even in September . We walked into the hills and picked figs while the younger ones played in the rock pools. Servies nearby was a nice walk for us oldies and has a wonderful butcher also a general store selling local produce and a bakery but one of the routines of the day was listening for the horn of the bread van which visits the village early every day. Servies also has a cafe that does take away freshly cooked takeaway pizzas. The house has a several little outdoor terraces as well as the very well equipped pool area with its own shower room and summer kitchen. We walked from the house to a local chateau for wine tasting and buying, we also caught the weekday early morning bus to carcassonne for the princely sum of 1 euro! There was nothing lacking in the facilities provided by the house and we would definitely go back again.

Summary: What a wonderful place! The location of the property was exactly what we wanted in a holiday, it was quiet and relaxed with only a short journey to the nearest village with shops, a doctors and restaurant. The scenery is breathtaking with wonderful walks up into the hills as well as crystal clear water in the rock pools. We caught the local bus to Carcassonne for the day and thoroughly enjoyed it, we would recommend standing on the castle wall to look at the fantastic views. The property is just amazing, the kitchen had everything we could have needed, the living room was a perfect space for relaxing in the evening and blissfully cool in the hot summer afternoons. The bedrooms were all a perfect size with luxurious ensuite bathrooms, the showers are wonderful! We loved spending days by the pool with no need to leave due to a full equipped outside kitchen and dining area where we enjoyed breakfast and lunch on a few occasions. We would highly recommend staying here, it was just what we wanted and would love to go back as there is still so much to do and see
