Situated on a hilltop, on the quiet edge of Villeneuve-Loubet, offering a panoramic view on the Saint Veran forest, the distant Alps mountains and the sea, the property is a 18th century Italian-influence villa full of character, completely renovated in 2016/2017.
The villa is surrounded by the verdant Mediterranean nature with a splendid park of about 2ha, and a landscaped garden offering several terraces with century olive trees groves, cypresses, eucalyptus, cork oak, palm trees and oleanders leading up to a woodland. Ideally located in a private and quiet area, within the prestigious medieval castle of Villeneuve-Loubet, just 15min away from Nice airport, 10 min from the sea and within close driving distance to Cannes.
The 13x6.5m swimming pool is situated in the middle of a century olive grove. Secured swimming pool and pool-house, dinning table for up to 15 people, sun loungers and fantastic view.
This patrician villa was once an olive farm and has been converted into a residential villa in the 18th century. Completely renovated over the last two years in high standard (fully renovated bathrooms and kitchen, insulation, double glazing…) with all amenities (reversible air conditioning system integrated in the ceilings and very quiet and internet access broadband WIFI), this authentic villa has nevertheless kept its original appearance and character with its high ceilings, French doors, fireplaces, cement tiles and terracotta floors. Can accommodate up to 14 people.
Refurbishment was completed in spring 2017.
Set over 3 levels and benefiting from a bright South-East facing, the villa consists of a double living-dining room, 7 bedrooms (3 of them can be configured as needed with 2 single beds our one double bed) and 6 bathrooms and toilets in each bathroom.
On the ground floor:
The newly refurbished and fully equipped and functional kitchen (2 dishwashers, large American fridge, 5 gas hob, dining area, Nespresso machine, toaster…) opens on a large double living-dining room. Comfortable and bright, the living room has high ceilings, fireplace, 5 large windows and French doors opening onto a lovely balcony offering a view on the park, the woods and the sea in the distance. With its 3.5m dining table, the dining room can sit up to 14 people.
4 bedrooms are located along a long corridor leading to a small south facing balcony with view on the vegetable garden terraces.
Bedroom 1 is South-East facing, with 2 single beds or one 1.6m king-size bed and has its own old-fashioned bathroom with WC and a cast iron bath tub.
Bedroom 2, also South-East facing, is a very bright and spacious bedroom with French doors opening onto a small private terrace with view on the park, and a 1.6m king-size four-poster bed, an en-suite bathroom with WC, Italian shower and a stunning view on the garden from the bath tub.
Bedroom 3 has a double South-West exposure, 2 single beds or one 1.8m super king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with WC and Italian shower.
Bedroom 4 has French doors opening directly on the North-West terrace, a 1.6m king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with WC, double sink and Italian shower.
Also on the ground floor: separate WC, laundry (washing machine and dryer) and a large entrance and hallway.
On the garden level is a double bedroom, 2 single beds or one 1.8m super king-size bed with direct access to the vegetable garden. En-suite bathroom with WC and Italian shower.
The first floor is ideal for a family who wants to escape from the rest of the group and is seeking privacy. A small corridor leads to two bedrooms. One smaller bedroom with a bunk bed for kids and a second larger bedroom with a 1.6m 4 poster-bed, a South-East double exposure, French doors leading out to a fantastic private rooftop terrace with a view on the sea and the distant Alps mountains. En-suite old fashioned bathroom with standalone cast iron bath tub and WC.

Summary: The villa was perfect for our family which included grandchildren aged 5 to 11 traveling from New Zealand and Australia. It was so comfortable and relaxing with everything we needed. The local village was just a short walk away for morning pastries and coffees. Thoroughly recommend it!

Summary: Domains Des Lions is a wonderful property. We were looking for a warm and welcoming house to rent for a large family gathering that included a new born baby, young children, teenagers, parents and grandparents - domains des lions was a perfect setting. The main house was beautiful with excellent space and facilities for 14 people. The pool house and swimming pool provided wonderful settings for all of us to hang out, have fun and eat dinner. Thierry and Cecile were very warm, helpful and responsive and Adelaide was delightful to work with. The location provides an excellent base camp from which to explore the many local attractions like Monaco, Nice, Antibes and Cannes. We left with wonderful memories and we would highly recommend domains des lions for anyone looking for a high quality, family friendly home in the Côte d’Azur.

Summary: We had an absolutely wonderful time at Domaine des Lions! There was plenty of room for the twelve of us, and the house was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. The pool and grounds are truly spectacular. Thierry and Cecile were gracious and helpful, and the house has an excellent handbook with recommendations on everything from hiking trails to restaurants. Thanks so much for an unforgettable experience! It had been many years since we had visited the Côte d’Azur, and we could not have hoped for a more relaxing and enjoyable week.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Domaine des Lions which certainly lived up to expectations. Beautiful and spacious with a superb pool house, it provided for all our needs and more. Thierry and Cecile were attentive, making sure we had all we needed and provided a beautiful breakfast for us all on the first day. We can’t recommend this property highly enough. Summary: Words cannot describe how beautiful and amazing this villa is. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. Every room was BEAUTIFULLY decorated, CLEAN, and all essentials available. Everyone in our group was in awe during check-in. There are seven bedrooms with seven full bathrooms (5 with showers and 2 with bathtubs with handheld showers). There’s a hallway powder room and a full bathroom and changing room in the pool house too! Some bedrooms can be configured into two twin beds or put together into one king bed. Each room has A/C that is controlled by remote. The kitchen is fully stocked with essentials, as is the laundry room. The pool and pool house are large and immaculate with essentials for outdoor entertaining. You can relax out there all day on the numerous lounge chairs and outdoor furnishings. The grounds are well maintained and spacious. Everyone can spread out and have their own private space. The very nice caretakers live next door and are always available to provide assistance, especially since our group of 14 did not have cars. The house is situated on a hill. A 10 min walk downhill is the closest bus stop—Le Tunnel and bus #400 and #500 will take you to Cagnes sur mer train station each day at 30 minute intervals. From there you can go to other villages along the coast. Purchase a weekly ZOU HEBDO unlimited use train ticket from Cannes to Vintimille for 38€ at the train ticket office and you are good to go. There’s also a Casino supermarket and a big outdoor shopping mall 15 minute walk downhill to get essentials. The quaint Villeneuve Loubet village with restaurants and bakeries is a 15 minute walk downhill in the other direction. This place is really impressive! We wish we could stay here every summer. Merci once again for making our vacances so memorable. Bisous!

Summary: This is a dream-come-true historic house in the hills near Nice, that has been recently fully restored to its original glory (with modern comfort, wi-fi, and a great pool/ pool house). We had wonderful time there - thanks to the property owners (thank you, Adelaide, for historic notes and detailed description of the local activities) and the housekeepers Marie and Jacque (they made a few things possible when our English-speaking group failed, prepared very lovely breakfasts for us and helped with grocery shopping for our barbecue!). The house is spacious, very clean, located in a hilly area, very peaceful but close to main roads (easy to get to Nice, Grasse, Cannes, Antibes, the beaches and famous museums). Kitchen is well-equipped, every bedroom has a dedicated bathroom (with very fluffy and impeccably white monogrammed towels!) and a TV/computer screen, powerful AC and a great view. Laundry has modern equipment and a steam-stationed iron. I would gladly come back and recommend this place to all who is looking for a great and comfortable place to spend vacation on the south of France.
