A beautiful two-storey property in an unbeatable location, Villa Vounous offers the perfect base for those seeking to explore all the rich experiences that Cyprus has to offer. The villa enjoys a tranquil mountainside setting from where it commands stunning view of both the Beşparmak Mountain Range and the Mediterranean Sea. Directly across from the villa, on the other side of an unspoilt valley on whose edge it perches, is the magnificent medieval Bellapais Abbey, which is clearly visible from the property and lit up every evening. The ancient archaeological site of Vounous, after which the villa is named, is a stone’s throw away.
Echoing its splendid natural environment, the villa has a large garden charmingly dotted with trees and plants. The garden surrounds an overflow swimming pool that is 12 by 6 metres in size and 0.9 meter to 1.8 meters in depth. In addition to steps at its shallow end, the pool has a seating alcove with tables—the perfect spot to cool off with a drink. The paved area around the pool is provided with sun loungers and umbrellas. Near the pool is a Turkish barbecue and a small courtyard with a stone table for eight people and cushioned benches along its walls. At the other end of the property is a smaller glass table for four. Both the garden and pool are professionally maintained at least once a week.
Inside, the villa is generously sized but welcoming, with travertine floors throughout and beautiful pieces of furniture, some of them antiques and locally handcrafted objects. The large open-plan living room and dining area have French doors opening onto the pool area and courtyard. A long wooden table capable of seating ten occupies the dining space, off which is a large fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a gas stove, electric oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A washing machine and tumble drier are found in an adjacent utility room.
There are four bedrooms in total, two on each floor, and all with ample inbuilt closet space. The master bedroom upstairs has a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe, and an en-suite bathroom with double sinks, a bathtub, an additional shower, and a toilet. The room next to it has a double bed and en-suite shower and toilet. Both upstairs bedrooms open onto a balcony offering gorgeous views over the mountains and sea. The larger downstairs bedroom, which has doors opening onto the garden area, has a double bed and en-suite shower, toilet, and bidet, while the smaller bedroom includes two single beds and is next to a separate shower room with toilet.
The villa is equipped with air-conditioning units throughout, as well as central heating and a wood stove in the living room for the winter. Freestanding fans are also provided. The hot water is heated by solar panels, with back-up electrical water heating available when necessary. Free wifi and satellite television (Digiturk with English movies and premiership football games) are included.
Despite its quiet natural setting, the villa is only a short drive from a variety of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets, not to mention beaches and sites of historical interest. The town of Kyrenia (Girne), with its charming world-famous harbour and array of dining and entertainment spots, is only fifteen minutes away by car, while further afield, Nicosia, Famagusta, and the Karpas Peninsula offer a variety of unique experiences for those visiting Cyprus. Whether you choose to spend most of your time exploring the island or relaxing by the pool, Villa Vounous is the ideal location in which to stay as you experience Cyprus’s unique atmosphere and culture.

Summary: The villa, pool and gardens were exactly as shown but even better. The views were amazing and the garden and pool terrace very spacious and private. The huge pool was perfect and the whole family enjoyed using it to cool down and play pool games. The check in was easy and the villa manager Mandy extremely helpful when we needed her, otherwise we weren't disturbed or bothered at all. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook at home when we wanted to. Location is perfect with local well stocked supermarkets a short drive away. Air condition was excellent and all were in good working order. We really appreciated the fact that there is a generator at the villa, very useful to have in case of power cuts. The only thing that I think is missing is to have some nice comfortable outside garden furniture/seating to relax and enjoy sitting in the many wonderful areas around the garden and pool when not wishing to sunbathe on the sun beds but wanting to sit comfortably outside. The garden is so pretty that I just wanted to sit and take it all in. I love this villa, in fact, I have already booked for a longer stay next year and can't wait to return. Thank you Mitch for allowing us to stay in your lovely villa.

Summary: The property is better than described. The photos dont do it justice. It was sparkling clean, the check in process was easy. Mandy the manager was brilliant with communication and advice. The area was remote but this was fully expected.the kitchen had everything we needed including large fridge, air fryer, microwave, toaster. The pool area and outdoor eating area is spectacular. I cannot recommend this property enough Many thanks to the owners for allowing us to stay in their beautiful, well equipped home.

Summary: When I was choosing the villa for the family holiday in Kyrenia I was a bit confused with the number of positive reviews for Villa Vounous. All of them contain high ratings. And now I add the next superb evaluation of the house and location. Villa Vounous is situated at the end of the calm street, looking at the known archeological spot - Hill Vounous. From three sides of the backyard there are no neighbours and you have a full feeling of large free spot around. The yard is large and very well-organized, garden is well-kept, beautiful and mood-building. Pool has a rare length of 12 meters. The sunset side is opposite the yard and all the evening the yard is golden coloured, you'll not change it for any restautant view. The house is large, we are a family of five and we had plenty of space. Took a breakfast in the inside dining room and had dinner around the big table at the outside sitting area. Everyday we took a walk to the old picteresque village of Bellapais, it is situated 25 minutes walk through the village of beautiful villas. Bellapais has not only the ancient gothic monastery that can be seen from the house but lovely narrow streets between old houses of 19th century. If we decide to come to Kyrenia again we will surely choose the same house. We also thank Mandy for the easy check-in, welcome pack (we arrived late and this was highly appreciated) and all the advice on local attractions and house usage.

Summary: Pool & Garden - immaculate and total privacy. Aircon - x6 units all working perfectly. (very unusual!) Location - 10min drive from Bellapais Gardens and Nima restaurant, best eateries on the island. Landlord/Manager - invisible but always available on the phone, exactly how we like it. Thank-you. This is the first villa we have ever rebooked.🤗

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this spacious villa which was extremely well equipped and met all of our needs. The Property Manager, Mandy was extremely helpful with organising transfer and car hire and Mitch the owner responded to me very quickly when I thought I was being scammed for my final payment. Only criticism is we we’re not prepared for how much everything had gone up in price. It wasn’t an issue but prices are much higher than previous years. We were also not aware that the harbour area was being renovated and therefore there were No restaurants open. Again not a problem as we are in most of the time, we couldn’t pull ourselves away from this lovely villa. Thank you Mitch and Mandy .
