8 Bedroom Villa in Velilla-Taramay, Almuñécar

Situated on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean, the villa is located in Taramay, near to the traditionally Spanish town of Almunecar. The house retains a high level of privacy whilst being within walking distance of beaches and shops approx 25 minutes walk down to the nearest beach or just a few minutes by car. The pretty village of La Herradura is 10 minutes drive away.Entering the villa by the front door there is a spacious hallway with cloakroom to the side. Follow the steps down to the enormous open plan living area where there is a grand glass topped dining table large enough to seat 14 people. Behind this is the huge lounge area with masses of seating on either the big comfy sofa or chaise longues where you can spend the evening chatting to friends, watching television on the large screen or listening to music.The kitchen is large with a double oven, two fridge freezers, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. The cupboards are stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and everything else you could possibly need. From here there are double doors which lead out to the first of many terraces where you can spend the day in the sunshine or shading yourself from the hot sun.Also from the hallway there are steps up to the Master bedroom which has a large 1.80 metre bed, en-suite full bathroom, and walk in wardrobe. From this bedroom is the incredible roof terrace which again has an array of comfortable seating, either in a wrap around sofa, or sunbeds. The views from the terrace are incredible, reaching across Almunecar on one side or to Salobrena and Motril on the other side. Stairs from this terrace also lead back to the kitchen terrace so the trip for more refreshments is only a few steps away!Returning to the front door, and down to the left are the other three double bedrooms and one twin together with two large wet rooms. Two of the double bedrooms have doors leading out to yet another large terrace and eating area overlooking the swimming pool and the other double bedroom has a door going down into the garden.From the dining area there are steps leading to the Bodega (wine cellar) and then on to two further double bedrooms both with patio doors leading to the gardens, a twin room and two shower rooms..The gardens have been beautifully laid out with plenty of lawn area leading to a very large swimming pool (heated as an optional extra from October - April) together with separate heated jacuzzi, ponds and many steps leading back round to the front door. There is parking for 3 cars in the driveway and the house has secure gates.When it is time to dine, spoil yourself in the BBQ area that will meet your very need with a state of the art gas BBQ, sink and kitchen area. Afterwards, relax and enjoy the spectacular Spanish sunset in the jacuzzi with a glass of champagne.What more can you ask for!Pool heating is available between October - April at a surcharge

Summary: Fabulous villa with fantastic outside space and wonderful views. We were a group of 12 friends and had everything we needed at the villa and found the host to be very responsive to any requests. Would thoroughly recommend 😀

Summary: Lovely and very well appointed villa with incredible sea views set in the hills above Velilla/Almuñécar. The layout and communal spaces were perfect for our needs and the pool and barbecue provided us with everything we needed for a relaxing week.

Summary: Stayed here in July 2018. 12 adults and 1 child. All bedroom were a very good size and comfortable. Air conditioning throughout. Most bedrooms leading to an outdoor area with access to the pool. The livingroom and dining area were a good size and presented well. The pool area was great and my 3 year old loved that when she went in, with all of the inflatables available to play with and a fish pond in the garden. Hot tub was also a great addition and was used a couple of night throughout the holiday. The BBQ area was very nice too, with a large BBQ for the villa size. The property manager, Rachel, was great and answered any questions I had very quickly. The villa is up a steep hill so a car is ideal if you want to do a supermarket run, but apparently Mercadona supermarket offers a delivery service on their website and taxis were easily available even with the party size. Standard cars are around €8 down to the restaurants below. We had 1 small car so we could buy from the local Lidl supermarket. Easy to drive down and back up. I’m rating 4 out of 5 based on the overall stay, location, property condition and the facilities available. I’d definitely come back to this villa.

Summary: We had 14 family members staying at the villa with 10 adults and 4 kids ranging in age from 8 - 18 months. We had an excellent time with plenty of fun had in the pool and gardens along with the large living room which was a nice retreat when wanting a quick break from the sun! We utilised both the indoor and outdoor kitchens and sat out each evening enjoying each others company. If anything, the photos of the villa contained within the listing do not do it justice. This property is vast and has so much space that even with 14 of us, there were still quiet balconies and outdoor spaces in which you could spend time on your own if you wished. The property is well maintained and is finished to an extremely high standard. There were laundry and washing facilities which was a great benefit with young kids. As noted within the listing a car is recommended for this villa but we managed to survive without one. We had numerous walks down to the front and then got taxis back up to the villa (about 6 Euros). We also went into Almunecar and had a few meals out. The town isn't massive but a nice place nonetheless. Having not had transport, we managed the shopping by having online shopping delivered from Mercadona. I was a little nervous about having this delivered but they came on time and it all worked out fine. I would recommend this service if people don't like driving abroad. We had two online shops delivered and picked up odd bits of shopping when we were out and about. One unavoidable issue was that the bin men do not come up to the villa so you must dispose of your waste at the bins at the bottom of the hill. Normally you would take this down in the car but we had to walk it down. This was not a problem for us as we walked the bin bags down each morning before it got too hot. This took 20 mins out of our day and was in no way an inconvenience, but may cause others a problem if you don't hire a car and don't have the energy to tackle the hill! Rachel looked after us from start to finish and was absolutely brilliant. As it was the first time we had ever been on a villa holiday, we had lots of questions for her, some probably seemed a bit silly to the villa holiday veteran but she was always helpful. One of our party left a watch in the villa and she is happily posting this back to us. All in all, excellent service. I would recommend this villa to anyone with a large party. It's a great villa in a lovely quiet location with stunning views.
