Summary: The property was extremely clean and well equipped, located on a working farm. The hosts, Angie and Andy, were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly book again if we were in this area.

Summary: We had a very comfortable stay in Scotland at Lochmaben family farm. The premises was large and spacious, neat and clean. Angie and Andy, our hosts were very friendly and always willing to talk and help. They guided us to some of the best sights around. The young cows in the barn were a bit shy but warmed up to us and allowed us to get to know them. At night it is quiet and very dark, we were able to see some of the Milky Way in the sky and even saw some bats flying about. It's a great centre to many interesting sights around the Dumfries and Galloway areas. We visited and enjoyed the following: Robert Burns Museum and adjoining restaurant (excellent food). Dumfries museum with the Camera Obscura. Annandale distillery tour. Sandy Hills beach was excellent and we had good weather (late August). Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum. Sweetheart Abbey was beautiful and we had an excellent meal in the restaurant next door. If you're looking for a very quiet and rural experience, I highly recommend staying here. Just keep it tidy for our next visit.

Summary: We really enjoyed our long weekend at Whitelaird. The cottage was warm, comfortable and equipped with everything that we needed. The special welcome package of local produce and fizz was also very much appreciated. Angela and Andrew were really friendly and on hand for local knowledge and advice. The children absolutely loved being on the farm and seeing all the animals. We would happily return for a longer stay next time!

Summary: This is a great place to stay in a great location. It really does have everything you could need which all makes it feel like home. The sunroom and the views it affords is just stunning and even makes rainy times bearable. Kids will love it here and there is plenty of safe space outside for them to play - the sandpit is a real draw! If you like being close to nature but want the conveniences of a town to hand, this could be the accommodation for you as Dumfries is just a short car journey away. I cannot recommend this place enough - love it!

Summary: My husband and I wanted to explore the borderlands and Dumfries, Galloway areas of Scotland and stayed at the Laird House. Angie and Andy and their family so were so welcoming and helpful. The Laird house was a lovely spacious cottage in a quiet spot in the country, but close to amenities. The shower was excellent, lots of hot water! I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to the south of Scotland.

Summary: The cottage is well equipped and beautifully laid out. Angie and her family made us feel very welcome. A lovely area to visit with great views and lots of places to visit. Although the highlight of the break for my 7 year old was feeding the horses, ducks and playing with the dogs on the farm!!
