The house is sited on the top of a dune, perfectly secluded and quiet. It overlooks a lake with stunning mountain views. A car is essential to explore the whole area and get the most out of your stay. Secure, garage parking is under the house. You can drop the golfers off then the rest of the family can experience everything from bungee-jumping to sailing! 20 k from George airport. 10 minutes from the Indian Ocean. 20 minutes from world class golf courses. 30 minutes from Knysna, shopping and activities. You are minutes away from booking the holiday of a lifetime! Or stay at the Lodge, and enjoy the outdoor life on the decking. Excellent for bird watching. A BBQ, a hot-tub and views to take your breath away. Perfect for winter or summer. There is a cosy log burning fire inside and a fully equipped kitchen.
There is no air-conditioning, but by leaving the upstairs bedroom doors open and the downstairs doors open, the hot air will rise and flow through the "whirly-birds" on the roof.
The House is Wi-Fi enabled.
We have just installed a 5kv lithium battery back up system to prevent disruption to the electricity supply during ( all too regular power outages). This enables an automatic backup to kick in to provide power for lighting, tv, router, fridges, water pump etc for 2-4 hours. It won’t however power the tub or hot water geysers.

Summary: The property is a large log home with beautiful views from every aspect. It is open plan and the double height in the main living area lend the property to being spacious, open and light. The entirety of the property is made from wood which is calming and feels very natural. The views are incredible. It's only 5 minutes away from Wilderness and Sedgefield where you will find all amenities but you have total seclusion and privacy. The house is well equipped including DSTV player but no DSTV (bring your own card), but there is a DVD player. The hot tub is great and sufficiently hot. There is a large balcony with sunloungers and cushions perfect for sun bathing. The decking area is quite safe for kids (we have a 3 year old) although there are 2 corners where the balustrade is quite low (so just be cautious). The bedrooms and bathrooms are fine although a little dated. It must be noted that the master suite is on the living area level and upstairs there is a double room and a twin room. All ensuite. The 4th double room is on the ground floor next to the garage. The house does get hot as there is no aircon. However I would completely recommend it and it is the perfect hideaway for those looking to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Summary: The house is large and inviting and extremely well equipped. The views are spectacular and the nearby beaches and restaurants are world class. My family and I had a wonderful holiday and we cannot thank Simon enough for going the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We have stayed at a number of holiday villas over the years and I can honestly say that the hospitality we received was beyond compare.

Summary: My sister and I, with our family, spent 10 days, over and including Christmas Day, in this fantastic log home. It was one of the best Christmases we've had! There is so much to do in the area for all the family. The boys played golf most mornings which they thoroughly enjoyed because the courses (a different one each time) were brilliant. We took the children to a nearby elephant conservation park - we were so excited because we were allowed to pet the baby elephants! One day trip we drove into the Little Karroo where there is another conservation park for wild animals of all sorts, it was fascinating and we learnt a lot. The house was very clean and tidy. We couldn't get the hot tub to work properly but other than that the facilities were perfect. We contacted the owner about the hot tub but as it was Christmas nothing could be done, they were very apologetic. However, we spent most of the time at the various wonderful beaches nearby anyway. There are loads of really good restaurants. The food is always fresh, well cooked, well presented and loads of it! I would certainly recommend this holiday to anyone, except perhaps families with very small children - there are lots of stairs!
