Il Baglio (derived from the Arabic bahah - courtyard), is located in the heart of the Sicilian countryside, between Trapani, Erice and San Vito Lo capo, in the center of the ancient territory that in the 12th century took its name from Casale Busith (today Buseto Palizzolo ), bringing back to us the refined and sober charm of what was an ancient farm.

Summary: Our group of six adults in our seventies stayed at Giovanni and Teresa's villa. Both villa and hosts are beyond wonderful. The villa is a restored and expanded version of a family farm. Every detail reflects the care, good taste, and planning Giovanni and Teresa put into the project. There are three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, with enough separation that a group of adults can stay comfortably without infringing on others' private space. The public spaces are comfortably and tastefully furnished, allowing groups to gather and enjoy each others' company. The kitchen has professional equipment and is a joy to work in. Giovanni prepared a welcome dinner for our first night, with Teresa as his sous chef. He's a great cook and a student of traditional local dishes. We enjoyed the food so much that we arranged for him to make another dinner for our group to begin the celebration of my husband's birthday. The outside views and living spaces are as welcoming as the inside ones. There's an outdoor patio, a capacious terrace outside the bedroom on the second floor, a swimming pool and a hot tub. The views of olive trees, fields and rolling hills are beautiful. The nearby town has a few restaurants, food and wine stores, and conveniences for stocking the kitchen. It is - refreshingly - not a tourist town. We were not overwhelmed by tourists, but within easy driving distance of some of Sicily's most special sites. Don't hesitate - grab the opportunity to stay here!

Summary: We had a great time! We did the cooking course and used the chef for one of the evenings. Great food and warm service. The house is very elegant and styled really well. It gives a very pleasant feeling. The pool area is great too. Highly recommended!

Summary: Great stay - house is amazing with a great pool and outdoor eating areas, bar etc. Giovanni and Teresa couldn't have been more helpful organising horse riding and suggesting beaches and places to visit plus the home grown produce from their garden was both unexpected and delightful! We will be back......!

Summary: A most tastefully restored old family building in beautiful landscaping with authentic and original features taking pride of place in the main rooms. Two amazing kitchens - and the best beds ever. We had a great week there with good friends - exploring the area and relaxing around the beautiful pool. Highly recommend for those that know and love Sicily.

Summary: I would highly recommend this property. The hosts are exceptional, always available and never obtrusive. The only regret was not having Giovanni prepare dinner every night! Would definitely return, and already miss Teresa and Giovanni.

Summary: This property was even more beautiful than the pictures. It is very spacious, wonderfully refurbished and decorated. Giovanni and Teresa were the most accommodating hosts from the moment we booked to the moment we checked out. Their cooking class was fun, engaging and delicious!! We all had space and privacy. The pool is incredible! Thank you for everything Teresa and Giovanni!! It was a real pleasure to meet you and stay in your beautiful home!

Summary: We saw the photos of the villa on the website and they don’t do it justice. It’s beautiful, exceptionally clean in a lovely quiet location even though you’re very near to the town - the pool is amazing too. Teresa and Giovanni couldn’t have been better hosts giving us everything we needed for our stay. We can highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back.
