At 5 minutes walk from the house is Nicolosi, a vibrant village known as the 'Porta dell'Etna' that offers numerous restaurants, shops and sports facilities and is a must for those who wish to explore the largest volcano in Europe. In other words, you will have everything you need and more without ever having to take the car. Also, directly from the villa, a very nice path enriched by fruit trees leads to the top of Mount Mompilieri with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Catania.
When you are ready to leave Nicolosi and the wonders of Etna, with 20 minutes drive you can reach Catania with its baroque buildings, the ancient fish market, the shopping streets and a fine sandy beach. With just one hour drive, you will find Taormina, a world-class and elegant town, considered by many to be the pearl of the Mediterranean, and Siracusa, a fascinating and timeless town, with a romantic promenade and an ancient Greek theatre that cannot be missed.
You can access Villa nel Monte from a spacious and bright living room with sofa bed, a modern kitchen and access to the terrace and the panoramic garden. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, all equipped with windows and air-conditioning. Two bathrooms with shower are one in the living area and the other in the sleeping area. A third bathroom and a fourth bedroom are located in the independent annexe, just below the terrace and closer to the pool.

Summary: Had an amazing stay. Lidia and her mother were lovely and very accommodating, can’t fault them for being really flexible with us when we had a sick child to look after. The villa itself was beautiful and well stocked. The welcome cake by Lidia’s mum as others have mentioned was a lovely touch. We didn’t have the best weather but the view of Etna from the kitchen window when we saw it was amazing. Pool very nice but cold as you can imagine at the end of October! Cats were very friendly and we didn’t find them intrusive at all but there are neighbourhood dogs that come into the garden too but Lidia was able to get them back to their owner when we asked her to. Location wise it’s only a few minutes to a good selection of grocery shops and about 15-20 minutes to Nicolosi. It’s a good base to explore, we went to Aci Trezza and Taormina as well as took a trip up Etna with Ashàra tours which operate out of the south end of Etna. Highly recommend this villa.

Summary: The villa is lovely, tastefully decorated, well equipped, pampering The location is great at the foot of the Athena, high so cozy and not as hot as the beach, in a cute town The host is available for any questions and requests Highly recommend this villa What would I improve? Option to open the door from the outside without a key (I feared being locked out) Drinking water dispenser in the house so as not to carry with the bottles And.... Etna view from the yard! I waited for him so much and the vegetation contradicted (-: But these are small things and the score is high and the recommendation is warm

Summary: Villa Nel Monte was a great property with lots of character and different spaces to enjoy. Hosts were communicative and welcoming. The location is a short ~20-30 min drive to key locations around Etna, and very close to vineyards. We chose it for it’s location a little out of Nicolosi, but it was an easy (although not on pavements) 10 min walk into the town for dinner, drinks, or late-night gelato! Domestic dogs do bark as you go by, but that’s normal for the type of area. The barking kept some of us up the first night, but I think we got used to it. The kitchen had everything we could need, including incredible welcome gifts including a homemade cake, olive oil, limoncello, and a huge basket of blood oranges in the fridge! The house came with a cat (outdoors) and its kitty friends, which my son loved, but someone with a cat allergy might find challenging if they want to spend a lot of time in the garden. Overall we had a great time and happily spent a whole day just at the Villa. With swings, see-saw, pool, table-football, etc there was plenty to keep everyone busy! Thanks to the hosts for a great stay!

Summary: This was the perfect spot for our family vacation in Sicily! The location was very central for quick trips to Taormina, Siracusa, Etna. The home is amazing … beautiful grounds, lots of gathering places in the gardens, on the decks, near the pool. The space is open and clean, comfortable and full of everything we needed. The bedrooms are all very comfortable, 3 large full bathrooms, and the kitchen is a wonderful place to cook. The large dining room table was the perfect gathering spot for our group at the end of the day. Guilia was in communication with us the whole stay, giving helpful recommendations and responding to questions. Her mother welcomed us when we arrived and left us with a yummy tart, a bottle of homemade limoncello and other treats. … and yes, there are sweet kittens on the property who made our stay even more special. What more could you need?? Do not miss this property if you are traveling to Sicily!

Summary: This house is absolutely wonderful. It has enough space, is very nicely furnished and the garden is very large. We immediately felt at home and enjoyed our time very much. We especially liked the open living area with the large table and the garden area. Everything was very clean, there were enough towels and there were a few cool drinks in the fridge. And this cottage has the sweetest roommate, namely a small cat, which is incredibly cuddly and trusting. We definitely recommend this accommodation. Thank you very much for the hospitality.

Summary: This was one of the best Air B&B experiences I have ever had. The host was extremely kind and responsive. The space was large enough for all of us to have our own space but still be together. The outdoor amenities were beyond my expectations and the surroundings were beautiful! Summary: Can only say wonderful things about our stay. The property was large and absolutely stunning. Everything was clean and tidy. The pool was perfect temperature and very clean. The hosts were spectacular and extremely kind, we felt very at home. They went above and beyond our expectations. The location was nice and central, easy to make day trips throughout Sicily as well as walking distance to the town. I highly recommend this place. I would love to return again. Summary: Villa nel Monte is perhaps the best property my wife and I have ever rented. Not only was the house, property and pool beautiful but the owners were very communicative and helpful before we even arrived. The real gold star goes to Lidia who lives near by. She went with the flow when our travels hit a snag, pushing our arrival back a day. She went above and beyond when one of our party suffered a back injury that required a visit to a doctor. She sorted out location of clinic and called ahead to prepare them for our arrival. She, of course, was also only a text away if we needed a suggestion of where to go from restaurants to beaches and just about anything you could think to ask about. She was worth her weight in gold. I highly recommend this location as a wonderful rental and good spot to see so much in that region. Nicolosi itself is a small, quiet town but it too has some nice restaurants and a few pubs that are 10-20 minute walk from the house. Grocery and butcher are a 5 minute walk up the road so easy to stock up for those days you just won't want to leave the pool. And trust me...you will have at least one of those days. Fantastic place!
