5 Bedroom House in Oia, Vigo

A large villa on an enclosed, gated, private estate with private access to a secluded beach. The house has a private pool, a large fully equipped kitchen, lounge/dining room with terrace with amazing views to the Atlantic (80m away) and Cies islands. The terrace has an electrically-operated awning. There is a second lounge which can double as 5th bedroom, with high quality double bed/sofa and TV opening to small terrace with bbq and the pool. There is a full sized tabletennis table.The rest of the villa consists of 4 double bedrooms (2 with double beds, two with twin beds), 4 bathrooms of which two are en-suite and all of which have shower/toilet, 3 have bidets. There is a laundry with washing machine and a double garage with a full sized table tennis table. The house is equipped throughout with broadband Wi Fi internet access. Furniture and fittings are of high quality and mostly new in 2008. Towels, bed linen and parasols are provided. Our neighbour Fatima will welcome you and be available.
How to get there: The cheapest way to the villa is to fly to Santiago de Compostela (1hr from the house) or Oporto (1.5hrs from the house) (served by both Ryanair and Easyjet) and then hire a car. Alternatively you can fly to the same airports with several other airlines including Iberia and TAP. Best to ignore Vigo airport because you will almost certainly have to change flights at a Spanish airport and the pain is not worth the gain.
Driving is not impossible if you wanted to make a holiday of the journey too, it is around 800km and 8 hours in the saddle from San Sebastian) From the UK you could also consider the 24 hour sea crossing to either Bibao or Santander though beware, you would still have a six hour drive from there to Vigo.

Summary: The villa more than lived up to expectations. Our family group of up to 10 people at one stage had plenty of space to relax, while the pool was a real hit with the children, as indeed was the table tennis table when the adults let them near it. The nearby beaches were superb and having a fun pizzeria within 5 minutes stroll was an added bonus.

Summary: The villa is spacious, well equipped and a comfortable home from home with a beautiful view over to the Cies Islands. Great location for visiting this area of Spain, and we also had a day trip to Porto.The kids absolutely loved the pool. The owner, Ken, was very helpful when we had to extend our stay abroad after my son took ill and had to stay in hospital for a few days. I would definitely recommend this villa.

Summary: Perfect area for visiting all the best places to see in Galicia. Beautiful private little beach with access to bigger beach and gorgeous sunsets. Need a car and mobility to nagotiate steps for beach but perfect for families.Everything you need in the house and lovely pool. Very authentic and non tourist are.

Summary: Beatiful views from the house over La ría de Vigo and Islas Cies, we could also see dolphins on various occations. Our children had fun in the pool. The nearby beach was a bit dangerous for the kids so we went to other beaches like Playa América instead (ten minutes away). Don´t miss the boat trip to Cies islands, it is like paradise.

Summary: Casa Tico was perfect for us, two families with 5 children (including 2 babies) between us. The house had everything in it we needed and the balcony has a lovely wide view of the ocean and islands, perfect for meals and watching the sunset with a glass of wine when the children were in bed. It's a short walk across rocks to a very pretty sandy beach, which is very sheltered and has lots of natural shade. There's also the pool of course with our children loved splashing around in. A bit farther afield in the car and there are many beautiful beaches to explore along the coast. Santiago is an hour away and we also enjoyed visiting Baiona and Vigo. Food in the region was great as was the wine and the owners accommodating and easy to deal with. Would certainly recommend it.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Casa Tico very much. The owner, Ken, went out of his way to help us with any special requests we had. I already know the area well, so that was not a surprise. I love Galicia very much, so anyone planning a trip there will not be disappointed. Only the weather can disappoint you... but that is how Galicia is (it rains a lot!). The house has a gorgeous view, and the location is very close to the city of Vigo. To me, the attention and care from the owner was the best. I think anybody would love staying here.

Summary: The house was very spacious for 5 of us. The view was spectacular and the beach was gorgeous! Prepare yourself for a typical (nude) spanish beach. But the beach was like a paradise and the water was beautifully clear. Weather was great for most of the days. Make sure you visit the Islas Cies! It was the most beautiful beach I have ever been on in Europe and it was truly spectacular. I went for a run on one of the trails and the views were incredible. In terms of the house inside; the kitchen was good, lots of essentials. The bedrooms were basic but fine. The living rooms were spacious and comfy. The pool was nice but we didn't use as there was not enough room to sunbathe or sit around the pool. The outdoor terrace was great for sitting out. The only downside was the space around the pool and the bathrooms, they were not the cleanest and the showers upstairs did not run hot. But the bathroom downstairs ran hot water though. But it was a bit of a let down to not have hot water. Overall a lovely stay so thank you!

Summary: In a word; superb! As a group of 8 slightly mature bikers we had very specific requirements for this accomodation and the villa met them beautifully. The rooms and layout are great for bigger groups with plenty of bathrooms and relaxing areas. The kitchen was put to full use most days (but don't tell our wives/partners!). The terrace looking out to sea was a particualrly well used feature. Breakfast and watching the day begin was a must as was watching the stunning sunsets...with a beer of course! The pool after a days riding on superb local roads was a god send! Restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy and such like are all local enough to walk to as is the beach. The villa was clean, well maintained and we didn't need for anything. The secure access and garage were particualry useful for our pride and joys! All told we'd happily recommend this villa to anyone considering staying there. The owner, Ken, made booking and communications a pleasure; thanks! Hopefully we'll be allowed away to play there again some day! Kev King and the seven amigos.
