4 Bedroom Villa in El Portil, Cartaya (Huelva)

This luxury traditional style villa, situated on the 10th fairway of the golf course, is the perfect venue for a family or golfing holiday. A safe, gorgeous sandy beach is within easy walking distance and several other spectacular beaches are only a short drive away. The villa is luxuriously furnished with a large, bright living room which has seating for 8 and satellite TV. The dining area has a large extendable table and also seating for 8. There are 3 bedrooms on the ground floor consisting of a twin room with its own ensuite bathroom and seperate door to the courtyard, and two further twin rooms with a shared family bathroom, together with the fully-fitted kitchen, making the house suitable for those who require downstairs accommodation. The master suite is upstairs and has an ensuite bathroom and large roof terrace.
The large and spacious garden has a paved area infront of the large patio doors overlooking the golf course. There is a large outdoor table with seating for 10 on this patio which is also shaded by a wooden pergola. The area around the 8m x 4m swimming pool is decked and is ideal for sunloungers. The pool is also surrounded by fencing, however sections infront of the decking areas are removeable if visitors prefer. In addition their is also a large courtyard, ideal for the sunny but cooler winter months. The remainder of the garden is grassed, private and secure. Access to the car port is via an electric gate.
Hire car rates: Cars can be hired easily on line and I recommend that you 'surf' to find the best deal for you. A car is advisable but not absolutely necessary. Faro airport is the best for the villa at approximately one hour away, however Seville is also convenient only an extra few mins more than Faro. Again, 'surf' the net for the best deals for flights. Faro is extremely well served and Ryanair fly daily to Seville.
Golf information:: The villa occupies a beautiful location, overlooking the 10th fairway of the Nuevo Portil Campo de Golf. El Rompido Golf Course is less than 5 minutes' drive away. The courses here on the Atlantic Coast of Spain are relatively quiet, of excellent quality and much better value than those over the border in Portugal. In total there are 6 courses within a 15 min drive of the villa and a further 4 within another 20 minutes. Discounted Green Fees can be organised through our local rep.
Beach: The beach is a 10 - 15 min stroll away, and has miles of golden sand. There is also a 5km long sand spit aprox 200m offshore from the main beach which can be accesed via water taxi's during the high season.
Beach Towels and Parasols are provided.

Summary: We enjoyed our 5 night stay over the new year holiday. The accommodations were as described and very comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied for home cooking. The house had not been occupied for some time before our arrival and was cold, but the mini split devices in each room were effective for heating. Working with the owner and the house manager, Emma, was very convenient and clear. If we returned to the area, we would consider staying at the property again.

Summary: Nice property. Close to golf courses. Surrounding area a bit dead in the evening although it is late in the season. Apple TV didn’t work, but luckily I brought my one over! One set of towels looked well worn. Overall it was ok for golfers!

Summary: We had an amazing time! The house is big and comfortable, everything was very clean and tidy. The pool and terrace are the best of the house. We spend much of the time outside. All the rooms have AC but we hardly use it as the house is well insulated. Easy comunication with the owner and easy check in and check out. We will rent it again!

Summary: The villa is lovely and very well equipped. The garden and pool are great and very peaceful and there are so few players on the golf course you hardly notice them. We didn’t find the restaurants in el Portil to be particularly brilliant and the town is a bit uninteresting in our view.

Summary: We were pretty unlucky to arrive to a day of storm, dramatic rainfall and terrible gusts of wind, which is clearly not the norm for this area. The house manager responded swiftly and supportively to our electricity issues caused by this, thankfully. The house itself was great, lovely sized bedrooms and en suites, well equipped kitchen and cosy living room. The furniture by the pool was comfortable too. The area itself, probably bursting with life in the high season was very quiet. Shops and restaurants were open but lively would not be a good description. The golden beaches stretch for miles. We especially enjoyed the birdlife, hoopoes on the golfcourse behind the house, flocks of blue magpies, flamingoes close by, owls hooting in the darkness. Seville is within striking distance and there was a little life to be found in Punta Umbria. Recommended out of season, if you are looking for peace and quiet! And dont forget, the Spanish eat late!

Summary: If you love nature and bird chirping while enjoying your morning coffee then you have found your perfect location. The house is equipped with all the necessary conforts and utilities for a great holiday (the only thing that I felt was missing in the kitchen were some new pans and skillets). If you don't want to cook you can eat delicious affordable food not 10 minutes away (10 euro for the daily menu choice) at Maravilla Restaurant. We really enjoyed it here and plan on coming back. Summary: Wonderful home with ample space for a decent sized group. For us (me, wife, 3 kids), it was larger than necessary but worked out wonderfully. The kitchen and included amenities served us well,; plenty of bathrooms for my pre-teen boys to get lost in; the pool, although cold, was stupendous. The only real negative we experienced was the lack of communication leading up to the actual check-in... we even engaged VRBO for assistance but they were useless. Overall 4 stars with 1 deducted for weak comms.
