Summary: I’ve stayed at a few terrific lake houses/cabins mostly in Maine. This Claytor lake house is even better than the best Maine places Ive stayed at. The house is beautiful, well appointed, and plenty of room and character. The location is far enough away from roads and non-lake noise but close enough to stores. It is in a cove a bit off the main lake, again, far enough to avoid most lake traffic but close enough for great access. For my family it was a great value too. This place and the Claytor Lake/Dublin area may just pull me away from my Maine addiction.

Summary: With lots of rooms perfectly situated to enjoy the views, this house is perfect for quietly reading a book on a screened porch to entertaining family. We took advantage of the well-stocked house to enjoy family meals, the porch for the views, and the game room for spending a few hours with our son at Virginia Tech. The nearby town of Draper has an adorable Mercantile & easy access to the New River Trail. Highly recommend this property for a retreat to hike, enjoy the lake, and visit family in Blacksburg.

Summary: Everything was great. Comfy beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Fun games. Beautiful view. Close to dining options and a grocery store but felt very secluded...best of both worlds.

Summary: I enjoyed staying at your house. It had everything in the kitchen to cook with. Bedding was good. Space upstairs and down was very comfortable. However my husband is on walker and that was challenging to get him up front porch step on hill. My fault for not checking into seeing if handicap. Commodes are to low down. Would rent again to meet my new great grandson and granddaughter from Maryland and daughter. Walmart is just a few miles and handy fast food restaurants. Location good.

Summary: This is our second stay in 3 years at this house. It suits our extended family perfectly. Plenty room to hold us all with activities that suit everyone’s taste. The only thing that could be better is an updated set of cookware. For our large group, it’s easier to cook in than to eat out. There are plenty pots & pans, but they are the same ones from 3 years ago, and they weren’t in the best of shape then. Other than that one drawback, we love the house & location & will no doubt be back for future visits.
