Positive: Property: Wonderful, comfortable, spacious, well-equipped, clean, affordable, 2-bedroom villa. Helpful having plenty of beach towels so don’t need to pack own. Appreciated coffee being provided. Watchdog who lives outside is very friendly and always greeted us with a lot of tail wagging, which added to feeling of staying at a home. Highly recommend selecting this property! Location: Perfect for enjoying nature and birds, which are important reasons to visit St Lucia, as well as near nice beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Many great places worth visiting nearby which will fill several days. Perfect also because quiet. Accommodations in Soufrière are described as being noisy at night. We only heard nature (rain, crickets, toads) and occasional dog barking. Recommend renting a 4WD vehicle at airport as we did to fully enjoy St Lucia; reasonable price of about $500 for a week from Budget. Main roads are fairly good albeit narrow with many switchbacks, those leading to beaches and other places worth visiting are rough with lots of potholes. Don’t get an American car (driver on left) if not used to driving on left. Hosts: Friendly and very helpful. Promptly answered questions we had before our trip. Willing to provide suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. Places visited in order (all good): Day 1. Toraille Waterfall, New Jerusalem Mineral Baths, Grand Eden Estate (booked tour); 2. Soufrière DriveIn Volcano ($15 combo ticket: mineral/mud baths + tour + access to Sulphur Springs Park Interpretation Centre), Taste of Fond Doux Private Walking Tour, Têt Paul Nature Trail, Malgretoute Beach, Piton Falls + mineral baths; 3. Marigot Bay, Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Pigeon Island; 4. Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, Anse Mamin Beach; 5. SLBWA North East Birding; 6. Millet Bird Sanctuary, St Lucia Distillery, Anse Cochon Beach, Morne Tabac RainForest Trail & Parrot Sanctuary; 7.

Positive: Property: You get the entire villa. It's so charming, decorated with items from different parts of the world. Definitely feels like a home rather than a holiday rental. The large bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite. There is a second bedroom with a double bed and second bathroom opposite. Plenty of hot water for showers for the four of us. Kitchen is fully equipped. Air conditioning in all the rooms. Large grounds surrounding the villa, with fencing all around the perimeter. Location: Great location in Soufriere, 10 minutes walk (with kids) to Massy Supermarket, 20 minutes to town centre. There are minibuses from the bus terminal to all attractions. Opposite Massy Supermarket there is a lady selling superb fried and grilled chicken outside the bar. A few minutes walk from Massy Supermarket is Fedo's, great food and local juices. Walking distance to Diamond falls and mineral bath, and also to Toraille waterfall. We didn't need to rent a car, mainly walked and used local buses and taxis. Locals are all very friendly and eager to help, we felt very safe during our stay. The Hosts: The host and co host were very responsive even before we made the booking. They helped us arrange a taxi pick up as well. We arrived later than expected and both Mr Henry and Ms Courtney were there waiting for us. They are both warm and welcoming. Throughout the entire stay of 7 nights, they went out of their way to fulfil all our requests. They even bought some local natural mosquito repellents for me and the kids as soon as they heard we got bitten. What we didn't realise is Good Friday is a public holiday and everywhere is closed on that day. Our hosts once again came to the rescue and secured a taxi for us to go up to Castries so we could carry food shopping with us to our next destination.
Negative: Nothing for the property. But be aware that roads in Soufriere are in rather poor condition and don't have pavements to walk on.
Summary: Amazingly charming traditional Caribbean villa very close to the town centre and many attractions.
