Quiet and Seclusion! This cabin has it all. The property is not too far off the beaten path (less than 2 miles to Meijer) but you'll feel like you're a world away. Located on the Highpoint Bayou, a permanent backwater of the Manistee River. You can kayak or canoe in and out with ease, and it's an ideal fishing spot. Wonderful outdoor features including large yard for games and fire pit, large back deck to grill and relax. You'll feel at home from the moment you walk in and not want to leave nature's serenity.
AMENITIES INCLUDE: AC (window units), laundry in basement, gas and charcoal grills, outdoor seating and games, indoor board games. Satellite TV service, WIFI internet and DVD player included.
The kitchen is fully stocked for everyday meal prep. Dishes, pots and pans, silverware, glass, etc. and a k-cup style coffee maker is available for guest use. Additional kitchen items include dishwasher, slow cooker, crock pot and mixer. Also included: bed linens, bath towels, basic cleaning supplies and soaps (not personal soaps), and a starter set of paper products.
LOCATION: Ideal location just outside of Manistee, but only minutes to Meijer and the Casino. Lots of great trails within 10 miles. About an hour south of Traverse City and a couple hours from Grand Rapids.
Check in time is after 4:00PM and check out time is before 10:00AM. Please note that we are not able to accommodate early arrivals or late departures from May – September. Any request for additional time will depend on availability of the rental and an additional fee may be added to the stay.
ARRIVAL: There is no formal check-in procedure. Arrival details are sent prior to your check-in date and will include the exact location of the property, parking and entry information. Guests will have a private, secure entrance and the rental is not shared by owners or other guests.
DEPARTURE: We do have a very short checklist we ask renters follow upon departure. It includes making sure the property is left tidy, furniture is in the same place you found it, everything is closed, locked and turned off, and the thermostat is set properly. These items will only take a couple of minutes but help staff immensely.
Please know that all rental policies and house rules are strictly enforced. This includes occupancy limits, age requirements, the ‘no parties’ and ‘no smoking’ clauses or any other rule posted online or within the rental. These are often defined by local ordinances, Homeowner’s Associations or other legal requirements and can result in fines or eviction if violated. We do not provide additional refunds for cancellations, late arrivals or early departures except as required in the posted cancellation policy.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was has pictured. It is far away enough from neighbors to enjoy the peace and quite but still close enough towns to go shopping.

Summary: Great location, very private in the woods, yet easy access to highway to go wherever! Only bad thing is the driveway, rutted and washed out pretty bad. A little precarious towing a boat, but passable with a truck. Neighbor has a lovely spotlight ALWAYS pointed at you coming in (sarcasm). Very blinding, oh well, still worth it when you get back to the house. Very comfy! Looking forward to staying here again!

Summary: Very nice cabin/home. Nicely decorated and one can tell it is set up to insure a very good "out in the woods" feel. Very spacious with everything you will need to have a very pleasant stay. Restrictions and chore list is minimal. This was our first time using the B&B/VRBO type stay, usually we stay in hotels. We will stay here again on our annual fishing trip to the Manistee area.

Summary: Our family of four had a great stay! This lovely cabin was exactly as the listing described and the host did a great job of communicating and making sure we had all we needed. I wish the days had been longer so we could have spent more time by the bonfire ❤️. The downtown area had some nice restaurants, the brewery was one of our favorites. Our day trip to the fifth ave beach, as well as to the Arcadia area (marsh and free park with a large dune) were very enjoyable with our kids ages 4 and 6.

Summary: The cabin was perfect for the four of us. It was very clean and centrally located. The only problem we had was the wi-fi inside the house was spotty but that wasn't a big deal. We loved the deck and the propane fire pit. We sat out there every night. Overall, we would stay here again and i would recommend to to friends and family.

Summary: We had a wonderful time in Manistee. We were happy to use this place as our home for a long weekend. The property manager was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. The property itself was clean and roomy for our group of four. There was plenty to do on the property itself. My favorite thing was to sit on the deck in the morning and listen to the birds. Another high point is that the property is only minutes away from Manistee, yet you have a cabin the woods experience. My kids did encounter the dog as mentioned by previous reviews. As I had shared the reviews with them, they wanted it to be known the dog is friendly. They named him Bubba and were sad that he only stopped by once. We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin. Communication with the property manager was easy and quick. They added on an additional night for us when we wanted to extend our stay. It was conveniently located only five minutes from Meijer and 10 minutes from Lake Michigan. Our kids loved how quick it was to get to the lake! There is so much to do around the Manistee area… We never got bored. In regards to things we wish we would have known, the cabin fishing spot on the Manistee river is not within eyesight of the cabin. There is a fence and 2 track drive that separates it (used by neighbor’s four wheelers and trucks occasionally, but not often) So as a parent of younger kids, they couldn’t go there by themselves very often which is what I had envisioned. That part of the river also could not fished but I think that was due to lack of rain and algae buildup. In regards to others’ comments about the neighbor dog… it did come down to visit every day, but is extremely friendly and my kids loved him. If you have small children that are afraid of dogs, I could see this being a problem. For my family, it was one of the highlights of their trip each day (we had sadly just lost our dog)!!! Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin.
