Positive: Our stay at Mantaray was nothing short of exceptional. The whole setup there is excellent and promotes both relaxation and cultural learning. The staff are a standout with an eclectic mix of personalities - Jim, Rapote and Anna were standouts for us. We took part in the village tour which is a must-do, the hand-line fishing which was good fun for an afternoon and a number of the free activities such as the Meke (dance show) and Kava ceremony. All of which were timely and good fun. We have already said we’ll be back again which is no small thing as we’re literally from the other side of the world!

Positive: I stayed in the dorm with many single beds, but unlike what you might expect from a hostel, it was extremely clean. The beds and mattresses were comfortable, the food was amazing, and the beach and snorkeling were incredible. The staff were super friendly, and the bathrooms very clean. Positive: The coral reef is very healthy and there are so many fish! The resort is nice and clean. Staff is super friendly.
Negative: The meal plan was too expensive for what it offered. Also of all the free activities that were advertised half of them were not available and for the others I had to ask many times. Of course paid activities were highly encouraged instead.

Positive: The place was great. We chose this island because it had a good range of room choices and mid range fees compared to what’s out there. Really happy we chose to come here. The staff were great. The island was well maintained and looked after. The food was delicious and menu changes every couple of days. The pizza was yum! The snorkeling was amazing. Waking up on the beach front was superb. A lot of effort has gone into ensuring guests have a great stay.
Negative: Everything was great. The island is 3 hours from the mainland and unfortunately we had to leave early as our baby was sick. Good to keep in mind if travelling with a baby or someone with medical issues. This is true of all the islands though so not specific to manta ray. The meal plans are expensive everywhere but the food here had huge portions and they really made an effort to serve you a good quality menu. The family reef bure was slightly smaller than I expected and could do with a chair and table but was also totally fine. There is also rubbish up the beach /rocks that has come in from the ocean.
