Positive: We stayed for 3 nights days in March and had an excellent stay - the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food is exceptional with excellent portion sizes. In particular the dinner menu is excellent with 3 courses, bread and an amuse bouche. My only thoughts would be that it would be nice to have a few more Fijian dishes on offer as the lunch menu is quite Western. There is a wide range of activities on offer - some of which we weren't able to take part in due to the season and some heavy rainfall overnight but were well organised. This included hiking, snorkelling excursions, basket making, jewellery making, trips to the local village etc. The snorkels are free to borrow to use off the shore and the reef was amazing!
Summary: Excellent stay in Fiji

Positive: We had a wonderful experience at the Octopus resort on Waya Island and we can’t recommend it enough. The vibe is relaxed, everyone was super lovely to our baby, food was amazing, everything is clean and pristinely tidy, there are plenty of daily activities to keep you entertained, the sand at the beach is super soft and the reef is fantastic. You can rent snorkels and fins for free, and there even are evening snorkelling sessions. There is live music in the evenings wish some amazing performers. You have the opportunity to visit the local village and see where most of the staff live and have a taste of their lifestyle and culture. The resort is definitely perfect for those that like to learn about Fijian culture and traditions. One of the managers, Sharene, was absolutely wonderful to our little one and even after a few weeks he is still asking for her and smiles when seeing their pictures together. There is a spa on site, a play room, a play ground, an activity room for the younger ones, an infirmary, a volleyball pitch, free water gear to borrow, a pool, fresh water showers everywhere, and more. The only downside is that we had to leave and come back to reality! Thank you all for making our stay so wonderful!
Negative: Having to leave to come back home!
Summary: We loved every moment at Octopus Resort, and if we come back to Fiji, that’s where you can find us!

Positive: The food was outstanding and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The beach was lovely and amazing snorkeling right off the shore. We really enjoyed the kava ceremony and the nightly singing. All dinners were good and the last night’s 9 course dinner was the best.
Negative: I liked it all.
Summary: I would highly recommend Octopus Resort as the location was stunning and staff were outstanding.

Positive: We really liked the location and the resort. It was not a big hotel chain and was very quiet and peaceful (we stayed outside Australian school holidays). There were lots of activities on offer each day which are on a 7 day cycle, so it is good to stay for a week. The snorkelling on the reef was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. We liked the meal plans and the food was very good. Beach was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We also discovered that the resort works in partnership with the village and school on the island, where most of the staff and their children live. The resort helps with housing and other community facilities, and provides school supplies amongst other things. Guests are also able to bring donations for the village and school as well, which we didn't realise. It felt like a privilege to stay on the island as guests of the Fijian community there and we will definitely be returning.
Negative: The restaurant does a 9 course meal once a week which we were not aware of. Although this meal was very nice, we would have preferred an a la carte option as well, as the 9 courses took a long time. The housekeeping did not always replace the towels as requested and we had to remind them the next day.
Summary: A beautiful resort on a quiet island with very welocoming staff and surrounded by a stunning reef

Positive: Just the most amazing and unique spot. Set between a beautiful white sandy beach and the jungle, this small resort was absolutely magic. Our garden bungalow was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Really incredible snorkelling directly off the beach with boat trips to other sites easy to arrange. Would love to return one day when our toddler is old enough to go to kid's club.
Negative: Pool was too warm to be refreshing but suspect that is related to the climate.
Summary: A very special place - would highly recommend.

Positive: We honestly cannot fault this resort. The location, property and their beauty speak for themselves, but the real home run for us were the staff. Everyone went above and beyond for us, from hospitality staff, to the dive shop and management team. The activities available added the perfect amount of structure to our day, with the dive sites being a favourite of ours. There’s a gorgeous atmosphere about the resort and though we were reluctant to leave, we cannot wait to return. A must visit when visiting Fiji.
