Positive: A warm, very clean, comfortable cottage thar gave us a good base for a six-night stay. Very quiet and restful, with a view of grass and trees. Bathroom was pleasant - towels and toiletries of a good standard. No problems with the kitchen and dining facilities - though we did miss having a sieve, a measuring jug and a set of scales !! but none of those were really essential and we did manage without them. We slept well - thank you. The "welcome" basket of high standard goodies was a kind gift. For us this cottage is well-positioned with easy access to Ashbourne and with Derby fairly close.
Negative: Trying to find the cottage for the first tme in the near-dark ! There is just a small turning off A52, which carries quite a lot of fast traffic, and no signboard for the property - that is quite understandable as it helps to keep the buildings more secure. To be honest, I think we may have failed to read access information on e-mail before we left home in France and we hadn't got smartphone/computer access with us, so it was perhaps all our own fault !! but there was a lot of stress. Once we knew exactly where the cottage lay there was no problem ..... except for the very pot-holed state of the lane. This may not be the responsibility of the cottage owner so we do not necessarily blame him, but it might br better if it were repaired a bit.
Summary: Able to see family and get to a concert in Derby, so would be likely to book at March Hare again.

Positive: A welcome pack was provided with bread, eggs, butter, milk, bananas etc which covered our first breakfast but March Hare is self-catering
Negative: Nothing really, the long driveway had a few pot holes.

Positive: What a fantastic stay. Really special property in a secluded location with wonderful countryside around. Even saw the hares most mornings and pheasants, too. Lovely, lovely host who was very welcoming and could not do enough for you. Beautifully presented Welcome Pack upon arrival, so if you are late, no need to worry about breakfast, including milk in the kitchen. Just right for 2 people with plenty of space. Lovely bedroom and spacious bathroom with good shower. Our host, David was there to bid us goodbye at the end of our stay. The location is well positioned for outing into the Peak District and Staffordshire with Derby just a few mile away. It was very good value and we would definitely stay again.

Positive: Perfect location, comfortable, clean and everything you need for a getaway break. The generous welcome basket was full of delights with milk in the fridge. The cosy log fire was a bonus in the evening. Ample parking next to the accommodation. Great host with plenty of wildlife, especially the Hare.
