2 Bedroom Villa in Marina di Ascea

Villa dei Limoni is located in a quiet and ventilated area. It is part of a farmhouse interspersed with lots of fruit trees, like lemon trees, orange trees, tangerine trees, cherry-trees, peach trees, medlar trees, apple trees, pear trees, plum trees, apricot trees, banana trees, kiwi trees and the delicious "figs of Cilento", which are typical of the region. Moreover, some centuries-old olive trees surround the villa along with many varieties of flowers, which colour the property with different shades according to the season. Equipment: a large solarium area equipped with comfortable deckchairs and two outdoor showers with hot water will make you feel relaxed in the garden, where you can sunbathe under the hot sun of the region or rest under the shadow of our trees, while you monitor your children. Our trees also surround a green area with swings, porch swing and volleyball court. A beautiful typical wood oven will allow you to cook some delicious Pizzas Margherita that you can season with the products of our vegetable garden (tomatoes, basil and olive oil), as well as the excellent buffalo milk mozzarella. You can try some local wines of Cilento while you use the convenient barbecue and listen to some good music under the stars and the moon, which hides among the trees. Il Mar

Summary: There was a Soviet/Russian tradition to organize children’s vacation at summer in a village with grandparents (отправить в деревню к бабушке). Nowadays grandparents are also cities residents, and the tradition was suspended. But Silvestro’s villa is actually the right “grandparents village” where your children can spend the summer in a simple environment, in a healthy place, safe and surrounded by maximum care from the owner.

Summary: "We had a lovely stay in this purpose built holiday apartment located on a small farm in Ascea Marina. The owner Sylvestro, who lived in the flat above, went out of his way to make us welcome throughout our stay in a warm, unobtrusive way. In the apartment we were delighted to find some wine, beer, a freshly backed cake, lemons & oranges from the farm, tea and coffee along with basic items like toilet paper, soap and washing up liquid. Within minutes of our arrival a large bowl of pasta had been rustled up by his sister and served with more local wine. Later in the week we were treated to a hands on limoncello-making demonstration using home grown lemons fresh from the trees, which we were able to take home at the end of the stay. The highlight was pizza cooked in the outside wood-fired oven. The apartment was clean and in good condition, with 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower, well equipped kitchen and dining table and chairs. There was a TV with mainly italian channels available. There was a shady outside terrace with table, chairs, recliners and sun loungers. The apartment could be improved by a comfortable inside sitting area (e.g. small couch) for use in cooler evenings. The large enclosed garden was available for our use and ideal for children with swings, seesaw, ball games etc. The main high street and clean sandy beach were both 5 minutes walk away. Shops including supermarkets, many restaurants and other amenities all within walking distance - our favourite was the Restaurant Porta Rosa, 10 mins walk away. Local food was of good quality and reasonably priced with many small shops selling fresh local produce. Buffala mozzarella (and gelati!) were fantastic. Train station close by but we had a hired car. The Cilento National Park is beautiful with many blue flag beaches and coastal towns, each worth a visit. Pompeii, Vesuvius, Napoli, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast are all possible day trips too. "

Summary: WE liked our staying very much!!! The Villa Limonia is the best place for your vocation with children. The house is clean, there are many greenery, flowers, olives and lemon trees. The main thing for our daughter was the child playground with swings and seesaw, with small house for playing in the yard and also valley, basketball and ping-pong. In the backyard is a pen for gooses - it was also interesting for city-child to watch them. On the terrace it was small table and small chairs, where childes could have a dinner on the air. Other point - is the sea. It is wonderful!!! The beach is in 5-10 min by walk. the sea is very clean. Also there is another beach in 3 km, it is the place of dream!!!! In the house there is whatever you need: kitchen utensils, bedclothes , towels, etc. Special thanks to the owner - Silvestro!!! He is one of the kindest men we met! Thanks to him our small vacation became even better then could! If we go to Italy another time, we would stay only at his wonderful Villa Limonia!!!

Summary: "Good value for money. Everything was exactly as it looks on photos and in the description. the owner makes the stay really enjoyable. He's very friendly and helpful. We arrived late on Sunday evening. Obviously all shops were closed and we had two small children with us (age 2.5 and 6 months) and no food. Silvestro cooked us some lovely pasta and brought some food for breakfast, including milk for our toddler. There's plenty of space for the children to run around on the property and we were allowed to pick fruit from the garden. We met other guests that have been coming to Silvestro's for a few years in a row. That says something!"

Summary: "Our stay at Villa dei Limoni, Marina di Ascea, Campagna (HOMELIDAYS) Our holiday at Villa dei Limoni was very enjoyable and memorable for many reasons. The villa was extremely comfortable, but the real joy was the way in which the owner Silvestro made us feel so welcome, by including us in many of the day to day activities around the property. Most days we were able to help Silvestro pick beautiful fresh citrus from the large orchard and then to have freshly squeezed orange juice with our breakfast. One of the highlights was to observe (and help with) the collection of the last of the olive crop, the initial separation of leaves and other loose material, and packing for processing at the “Frantoio”. Silvestro invited me to drive with him to the Frantoio, to see the fully automated process of converting the olive crop into olive oil. I found this to be particularly interesting – olives collected that morning at his property, were taken from the Frantoio that evening as olive oil! Silvestro was also extremely helpful when giving us advice on visiting the many attractions available to visitors to the region. As someone born in Ascea, he has a wealth of knowledge of this beautiful part of Campania. We had a leased vehicle with us, so we were able to explore quite a lot of the region during our stay. On the morning we departed the villa, Silvestro provided us with so many crates of oranges, lemons, mandarins and a huge 5 litre bottle of his newly processed olive oil, I was unsure that our little Peugeot would ever make the journey to our next destination in Central Italy!!! In all, a very memorable holiday and we have no hesitation is offering a “first rate” recommendation for Silvestro’s Villa dei Limoni as a “must do” holiday."

Summary: "We are stayed in Villa dei Limoni in september 2009 with 7-month old infant. It's quiet place with kind and helpfull owner, big garden, olive and fruit trees, 5 minutes walk from the beach. It was nearly ideal for our vacation with little baby. Appartament condition fully conforms to it description on the site: well equipped, clean, with easy access to great sandy beach and town center, supermarket nearby. In our stay (end of september) there are few other tourists, so we enjoyed perfect weather and empty beach almost everyday."
