Summary: Perfect place for us. Away from everything. From the back having our nightly wine looking at only the fields around us. Central for us as we hit the waitomo caves, kaituna cascades and Hobbiton each about a 45 minute drive away. Dinner at Matamata about 30 min away and a dinner in Hamilton about 45 min. A bit of driving, but for our 4 days on the north Island, perfect location for us and I'd be right back if to do it again.

Summary: We stayed here after 4 days on the Tongariro Circuit. It was a perfect spot for us to recoup and reorganize for the next part of our NZ tour. We popped over to Hobbiton for an afternoon (25 mins away, a highlight of our time in NZ, highly recommend the lunch tour) and spent a morning poking around Matamata (25 mins away, looks like some great dinner restaurant options, unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to try any of them). House is well stocked. Host is very responsive and helpful. My wife loved soaking in the outdoor tub (very private). Big deck great for watching sunrises with your morning coffee or sunsets with your evening glass of wine. Our only small suggestion for improvement would be to swap the sofa bed in the 2nd out for a queen or twins, just to make the bedroom a bit more functional (that being said, it’s one of the more comfortable sofa beds our kids say they slept on the whole time in NZ).
