Positive: Rooms were clean, albeit smaller. We did opt for the smaller room for a more affordable fair. The price for the smaller accommodations seems appropriate. The staff really stood out. Everyone involved with the hotel that we encountered was friendly and accommodating. Furthermore, the facilities were incredibly clean. Being able to use the soaking pool was an added bonus, as well.
Negative: The smaller room stayed pretty warm despite having the air conditioner cranked to it's lowest setting (outside temps were in the 80s) and the food in the restaurant was a little pricier than I would have anticipated.
Summary: Wonderful weekend getaway with the family!

Positive: No breakfast was included in the room rate only very poor quality complimentary coffee in the mornings.
Negative: Complaint - we did not get the room we booked as per the description in Booking . com as this room does not even exist at this hotel according to the reception staff when queried. The Room we are actually in... is on the first floor and called Harvey Clark. When I showed the confirmed reservation detail of the room we purchased, the receptionist said our room is classed as a Queen suite just because it has its own bathroom and no rooms have a private pool, plus there was no bottle of complimentary champagne, apparently never offered either to any guests. There is no outside private dining area either of course being on the first floor. This is false advertising, we did not get what we paid for. This is directly copied and pasted from our booking as advertised and we thought we had booked. This is the room description as advertised The private pool is the special feature of this suite. The air-conditioned suite features 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. There is a carpeted floor, heating and an outdoor dining area and complimentary wine/champagne is featured for guests. The unit offers 1 bed.

Positive: Comfortable bed. Very nice staff. Pool was nice but soooo crowded. Again… weekend so my bad decisions.
Negative: My fault…. Bath down the hall inconveniently located. Food in Iron Grill was poor… dry and overpriced.

Positive: The cleanness of the Lodge and the art. We were also close to a venue I had reservations for. The grounds are beautiful, and in the morning, we had a nice walk. In the morning, we also enjoyed coffee in the beautiful, cozy lobby, right next to the fire.
Negative: There wasn't much to not like. The Lodge is beautiful, the staff is attentive, the price and location is excellent, the soaking pool, the food... The room was cozy. My husband and I are not big fans of big rooms. It was exactly the size I wanted.
