Positive: A good base for exploring the Gower Peninsula. Cottage was clean, comfortable and was equipped with most essentials. We had a couple of queries to ask the owners prior to our arrival but the Booking.com email/message was never received by owners. I had to phone them directly. Other than that we had good communication with owners. We experienced a planned power cut on the 2nd day which the owner informed us of and water cut on the 3rd day which local roadworks had accidentally caused. The owners provided us with some bottled water to tide us over until the problem was fixed. The garden was big enough for our pup to run around (on a lead). There was a field that was available for our use as well. The owners left us some Welsh cakes and a small jug of fresh milk which was most appreciated.
Negative: There was no washing machine. Only 1 toilet roll provided for a week's stay for 4 persons. Would have been useful to have a mop, dustpan and brush to keep the floors clean during our stay especially with a dog. There was a small hoover which picked up most bits.

Positive: very clean and nice decor. great outdoor space.
Negative: we didn’t have control of our own heating and had to message the owners when we wanted it turned on. Also, it would have been good to know that they didn’t want dogs left in the cottage unattended as it was very restrictive.
Summary: very nice, quiet and clean, friendly hosts. just a few tweaks needed.

Positive: Very quiet location. Lovely cottage; tastefully decorated; well equipped; comfy bed; spacious living, dining and bathroom areas.
Negative: Access to the cottage was pretty awful. Nowhere on the website does it mention that you have to drive 500 yards down a farm track which is riddled with potholes. After making the non-refundable booking I was told that the access track can be a bit bumpy! Unless you have a 4x4 vehicle, it is hard-going. Also, the heating and hot water is not controlled by whoever stays in the cottage. There was plenty of hot water, so this was not an issue. However, the heating went off for 2-3 days in the middle of the week, and I was told that the renters in the adjoining cottage (who left before us) had managed to switch it off from their cottage when they checked out. Not being able to control heating in the place we are renting is very frustrating. (Feels like we are not trusted by the owners). Lastly, nowhere in the property description does it tell you that there is no mobile phone service within the cottage (apparently if you are an EE customer, then you may be ok; and WIFI is fine).
