Roughly equidistant between the north and south coasts of Gower, Three Crosses lies in Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and forms the setting for these lovingly renovated, listed 18th-century properties which have won prestigious awards, namely the Lord Mayor Design Award, Wales regional winner for Built in Quality Design Award and the Gower Society Award. Originally comprising the buildings of the only farm in the village, they offer holiday accommodation of a very high standard, blending modern facilities with old world charm, have wi-fi internet access, and lie close to the 18th-century village pub serving good food.
Stretching from the pretty thriving village of Mumbles on the western edge of Swansea Bay, the south coast offers many opportunities for water sports, with beautiful sandy beaches further along the coast to the jewel of Rhossilli, and a 22-mile coastal path rewards walkers with some of the most stunning scenery in Wales. Taking on a more wild and rugged look, the north coast stretches from Llangennith along miles of deserted sandy beaches, and follows the Loughor Estuary. Beautiful walks abound in inland Gower, which boasts three Norman castles, and spectacular views of the north and south coasts can be admired from Cefyn Bryn – the spine of Gower. The Rhossilli Downs overlook the beach towards Worms Head – reached by a causeway at low tide. Home to 4 golf courses (one a few hundred yards from Crwys Farm), Gower also has surfing beaches at Llangennith and Langland, pony trekking and excellent fishing. For a change of tempo, the city of Swansea beckons. Home of Dylan Thomas, Swansea (with its cinema, bowling, indoor leisure facilities) has the largest indoor market in Wales and boasts an excellent maritime quarter containing the Welsh Maritime Museum, as well Plantasia. Travelling west towards the rugby town of Llanelli, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust is a must for bird-watchers, and the Millennium Coastal Park makes an excellent cycling venue, leading to Pembrey Country Park, with woodland and 7-mile sandy beach. Summary: As the managers were apparently traveling, we had to find our ourselves how things in the cottage have to be operated. Due to the historic ambience of the house, doors did not easily shut and the window in the "big"bedroom couldn't become closed properly. The managers placed useful things for starting the stay at the house including a bottle of Prosecco for which we are grateful. Also the fresh roses on the table were beautiful.

Summary: The Granary is a comfortable and clean holiday cottage, and we particularly appreciated the enclosed garden, as it was relaxing sitting outside at the end of the day, knowing our border collie dog was secure with us. The garden seems to catch the afternoon/evening sun, and though not right on the coast, it is on high ground so you can glimpse the sea in the distance. Gower is a fantastic place to holiday with your dog, as about half the beaches allow dogs all summer. We stayed in early July and had miles of sandy beaches almost to ourselves - just a few other dog owners in the distance. The wild flowers were also beautiful in the sand dunes behind the beaches called 'burrows'.

Summary: Beautiful accommodation and location for the Gower. Our 2 old dogs loved it there and we enjoyed the fresh chicken and duck eggs you can get from next door. Thoroughly recommend this place for peace and tranquility but within easy access of some fantastic beaches.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay and found the cottage met all our needs! We definitely needed the car though to make the most of the lovely beaches and countryside round about. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and very welcoming - it was one of the best cottages we've stayed in!

Summary: Clean comfortable cottage, the downside for us was the noise of the constant traffic at Three Crosses it appears to be a rat run for commuters which is not what you want to hear when you on are holiday. One member of our party had a little difficulty with the vertical nature of the stairs this property is not suitable for those with mobility issues and the ground floor is not on the level. Some of the oventrays could have been cleaner or newer, but the owner responded fairly promptly to an issue with hall light. Not enough recycling bags available for self caterers needs. With these points in mind possibly not quite a 5 star property but felt the price reflected the overall experience.
