Meadow Sweet Cottage is perfect for a quiet, country stay to relax and enjoy the beauty and activities of Penns Valley and the surrounding towns. Fully furnished, equipped, and decorated, you’ll feel right at home in this French country inspired home away from home.
The space
The Cottage’s main room features an open, L-shaped kitchen, dining, and sitting area by the propane fireplace. There is a window air conditioner in the main living space. There's also a desk and reading nook/twin bed. The bedroom features a double bed with memory foam mattress, dresser, clothing hooks, and luggage rack. The modern bathroom features a tub/shower and antique vanity. In the kitchen, you'll find an electric stove, microwave, fridge, prep table, and pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. There is a dining table just off the kitchen. The front porch features a propane grill and bistro table (seasonal), wicker loveseat, and porch swing. Basic condiments (mayo, mustard, ketchup, hot sauce, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce) are provided, plus olive oil, Folgers coffee, herbal teas, honey, sugar, sweeteners, half and half, and breakfast bars.
This property is close to several fishing creeks, trails, and attractions, so there’s is plenty to do. Or relax on the porch, grill your dinner, and watch the Amish buggies go by.
Meadow Sweet Cottage is 5 miles from Woodward Camp, 4.6 miles from Elk Creek Cafe + Aleworks and downtown Millheim's shops, winery, and two coffee shops. It’s 17 miles to Grange Fairgrounds and 29 miles to Beaver Stadium.

Summary: This cottage is off the beaten path which is why it is so charming. It is in the Amish Country and everything around is very simple....perfect for us. Cottage has everything you might need and is easy to access. The GPS took us right there and the lock box worked as designed. We used it as a base for State College activities. It is 35 minutes away, but a beautiful drive.

Summary: This cozy little home is perfect for spending several days in the country. It is close enough to Millheim to get groceries, hand out at a winery, get coffee or beer; and yet be quiet and watch the Amish buggies go by as you sit on the front porch. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, and the space is welcoming. It is located well for fishing, biking, hiking, swimming at Poe Paddy or just hanging out on the front porch. No TV ensures that you will relax, we did not miss it!

Summary: The home is within a quiet Amish community well away from most conveniences, and that was the best part for us. Annie created a beautiful and comfortable place to relax for a few days, and it was still close enough to activities, stores, and special destinations. The internet works very well, too, for those concerned about connectivity. Everything is very clean, nearly all needs are provided, and there is even a binder that includes info about the area both practical and anecdotal--all in all, it is helpful to a person unfamiliar with the area. Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park was a blast! I recommend this host--Annie--and her beautiful home to anyone trying to truly get away from it all for a spell.
