Positive: Irene - the host - was so thoughtful and really helped us out with everything we needed. Even when the world conspired against her (wifi dropout / water pressure issues in the area) she went above and beyond to make sure our stay wasn't impacted. A truly stunning place in the countryside, but close enough to edinbrough / glasgow / stirling for a lovely Scotland break!

Positive: The location is perfect for day trips to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sterling, Loch Lomond. Very close to Falkrik wheel and the kelpies. The cottage was super clean, luxurious and maintained very well. Perfect stay for a summer

Negative: The cottage needs to top up essentials such as kitchen tissue, wrapping foil, cling film and other very basic amenities. The cottage should resource games and books to engage the kids as provided in other cottages

Positive: Had a great time with family, loved the accommodation and the location was quiet, peaceful and safe. Irene is a wonderful host. We liked the fact that she provided the initial breakfast items and some cleaning products. Overall a lovely stay, highly recommended! Would love to visit again, may be in summer.

Negative: Not disliked, but just some feedback: - May be if a couple of dishwasher tablets could be provided that would be great as we wouldn't have to go to the supermarket just for one item - There is no broadband in the area and the internet is provided by some sort of SIM card router which has a great speed at night but can go really low during the day. That is enough for making audio calls but not ideal for working. But that was just me, was working from home while on the trip :)

Positive: Melville Lodge is a beautiful home to stay in. It is a very comfortable and warm cottage (winter stay for us). It is spacious, well appointed and has everything you need. Irene is an exceptional host and I can see she has put a lot of thought into making the cottage a welcoming and relaxing place to be. We loved staying at Melville Lodge. We would highly recommend it and would definitely come back again.
