Miro is a beautifully renovated apple pickers’ cottage with panoramic views across the inlet to the Richmond ranges.
We have five acres of organic garden, fruit trees and regenerating native bush. You can choose your favourite quiet spot to read, relax, or have a picnic. It is a perfect place to enjoy the pleasures of a bach holiday with good books, board games, barbecue, hammock, and endless views to gaze at. We also have paddle boards and kayaks for guests to explore the Inlet at high tide.
Miro Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Nelson/Tasman region. There are so many options for day trips: for hiking there is a choice of three National Parks (Kahurangi, Nelson Lakes and Abel Tasman), for swimming there are beautiful golden sand beaches and rivers, for cycling there is a huge variety of trails, and for gourmands there is endless foraging for wine, artisan food and craft beer .
With the well equipped kitchen and barbecue you can make the most of the exceptionally good fresh produce the Nelson region has to offer.

Summary: Beautiful property. Very scenic and secluded. Kitchen is well equipped and the deck off the back is perfect for birdwatching. A very nice getaway that is not too far from town. The location is very close to Nelson area wineries and galleries. Thank you!

Summary: Awesome cottage for 2 that’s comfy and simple. A great spot to unwind from the world and just chill. Our hosts were around but left us to relax and enjoy their special spot. I love the simplicity of the cottage and for a few days it’s a perfect retreat. Also handy to good restaurants, cafes if you need it. We loved our stay and will be back!

Summary: Located on the Waimea Inlet just outside the Mapua village, this was a gorgeous backdrop to our two-night stay. Cosy cottage with all the necessities. Friendly hosts with great local knowledge. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Summary: Located on the edge of an everchanging estuary and close to wild-life this charming little cottage is a gem. Exceptionally well thought out, the cottage has everything one needs and provides a traditional kiwi bach experience without being "kitschy." Elspeth was a friendly, accommodating and unobtrusive host. Highly recommend this property.
