Summary: Merv, met us when we got to the house. Clear instructions given of checking in. Four of us stayed here to catch up. We had a curry from the Indian in Wincanton which was delivered and very tasty. The beds were comfortable, two rooms with double beds, one can be converted to a twin if needed and another room with a single bed. There is an upstairs bathroom with shower over the bath, sink and toilet. There is also a downstairs toilet. We had a walk round Wincanton, there is a Co-op which was open on Saturday but Boots the Chemist closed at 1pm. There is Lidl and Morrisons within easy walking distance for essentials although Merv kindly offered us to use the essentials already in the house. There is not really very much to do here and the town is extremely quiet. It was ok for us as we just needed a base to catch up. Saturday night we ate at the Nog Inn, which is a lovely pub in the town. The fish and chips were tasty and with a few drinks on our tab came in at a reasonable price. The only negative was a strange odour in the house, not sure if it was like stale cigarette smoke.

Summary: We chose this property to allow for access to the north (Bath etc.) & the south (Jurassic coast). Comms we fast with access and location description easy to follow. It is situated within easy reach of A roads to head out. Wincanton is a small historical town but not a lot is going on. The house itself was adequate with the host being very nice. I would however advise them to tidy some of their cupboards to allow for a more comfortable stay - The medicine, food cupboards and drawers could be cleared more to allow for travellers belongings to be added. Feeding the fish was not a chore but interesting to see their characters during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked with all you need and all white goods worked as needed.

Summary: We needed an affordable place to stay because we were attending a wedding nearby, and this house was ideal for that. The house was clean and had everything you could need for a stay. The road is a little busy, but very quiet at night which is the important thing. Getting in was easy thanks to the detailed instructions and clear communication from the owner.

Summary: We really appreciated the friendly host who was quite happy to help in everything we needed. The house is cozy, clean and very homely. We can recommend the property without hesitation. The kitchen is prepared to be worked in - thank you for that. Our kids loved to feed the fish. We really like to come again. Thanks for everything.
