Hygge House (say Hue-guh), a Danish word meaning the quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality, is located in the wine region of Wallaroo, just 25 minutes from the heart of Canberra.
Nestled on the side of a hill, with 180 degrees sweeping views across the valley to the Brindabella mountains. Exclusive use of Hygge with four bedrooms (one with en-suite), each with a split system air conditioner, sleeping eight to ten; well-equipped kitchen with large oven and a butler’s pantry.
Once you arrive at Peter and Barbara’s property, you will feel a sense of the peaceful and tranquil lifestyle of country living with the benefits of access to all Canberra attractions. Inside the house is provisioned with tea and coffee making facilities, all linen, flat-screen TV, BBQ selection of books and games.
The house is well equipped to dine at home, with all essential cookware and condiments supplied in fact you may not want to leave this beautiful house. But if you want to dine out there are nearby restaurants.
There are four bedrooms, each with a split system air conditioner unit to ensure you have the ultimate comfort. The house sleeps eight to ten, with the master bedroom is very spacious and has a queen-size bed, and its own ensuite. Two bedrooms have king-size beds that can be converted to single beds and the fourth bedroom has two single beds. Two extra fold up beds can be added. There is well-appointed bathroom with a large bath, and a separate toilet. There is a washing machine and dryer in the laundry if required.
The modern kitchen is well-equipped with a large oven and a butler’s pantry. The kitchen opens out to the living area with open plan dining area. There is a separate entertainment area with TV and Wifi. All the living areas open out onto verandas where you can sit and enjoy the ambiance. You can enjoy breakfast on the northern veranda or dinner on the southern veranda.

Summary: This property was extremely warm and comfortable. The country views were impressive and the property grounds fabulous for bird watching. We had a wonderful family time enjoying the surrounds and the close proximity to the wineries. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this Stayz accommodation.

Summary: The property was absolutely beautiful with amazing veiws from every angle of the house. It was the perfect location to get ready on the morning of our wedding. Barbara was so accommodating throughout the whole process and made everything so easy for us. We will definitely be back to stay.

Summary: Our family had a lovely 3 night stay here. The house is amazing - clean, comfortable, well furnished, with modern yet cozy decor. The grounds are well maintained, walking around is very peaceful and you feel you are remote, yet the place is conveniently located near Canberra. Loved seeing kangaroos wander around nearby, and views of the mountains to the south. The owners are lovely. No complaints and would strongly recommend this as a "country cottage" style break from the city / work. We didnt want to leave, and will be back again!
