Free access to the pond, the woods, the garden areas, and the chapel, while respectfully giving space to other guests and their cabin or house spaces.
Other things to note:
This is a place to reconnect with each other. we have limited wifi connection and cell coverage however there is no TV. we intentionally hope to allow life and its stresses to slow down and let you enjoy nature, God, family! We enjoy the "Sabbath," a day of rest from Friday evening sundown to Saturday evening sundown. That means our property will be extra peaceful on that day, but also that we won't be available except for emergencies.

Summary: Nice house in a beautiful quiet neighborhood area lined with fig trees and by a nice lake. Great home for a retreat to pray or meditate or walk your dogs. I rented the house for my son and I to go ride our KTM and Kawasaki enduro motorcycles off road in the Sam Houston ohv forest only about 30 minutes away. Just a personal note: Area has spotty cell signal, so the House could use a TV with satellite, a keurig and some good complimentary coffee. Not deal breakers, but for a weekend stay a TV and coffee would improve the stay.

Summary: The cottage was just what we had wanted with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, along with a nice-sized kitchen. The owners were gracious and helpful. There is a great trail on the property as well. We would definitely return if coming back to this part of Texas.

Summary: Overall the experience was good. I did have a few issues that I personally would have handled differently, but everyone has different ways to handle issues. We lost water 2 nights. One night was a short period but the second time we were unable to take showers or use toilet due to busted pipes. We had 4 towels and 1 wash cloth for a 3 night stay with 3 people. Also our garbage wasn’t emptied in the kitchen so when we arrived we had a full bag of garbage and never found a dumpster. The couple who own it did get in touch with us quickly about the busted pipes due to freezing temperatures but unfortunately were out of town on a holiday weekend. We were offered up to a $100 to get a hotel for the night but on Christmas Eve almost 10pm and weekend plus add we had dogs…you got it not much luck. We have been looking for a cabin or house to rent every 3 months to go home and visit our family. We personally feel we needed more than they offered us.
