Positive: The house was in a beautiful location on top of a hill surrounded by fields. It had everything we needed - a comfortable bed, a walk-in shower and somewhere to sit outside. We arrived to a national power outage and our hosts did everything to make us comfortable. We had candles, a torch and alternative cooking facilities. Fortunately we had electricity the same evening. We were well looked after throughout our stay. We had a change of sheets and towels and our hosts kept in regular contact with us in case we needed anything else.
Negative: Nothing.

Positive: Monte da Caniveta - Casa do Avô is a beautiful place in the nature. We really enjoyed the landscape, the walks and the quiet mornings. Antonio was extremely nice and helpful with us. He picked us up and took us to the house, he left for us some welcome fruits and wine, and explained us everything about the house. The house was very clean and tidy and recently renovated. Highly recommend!

Positive: Great house . Great setting and large areas . The house has everything you need for short or long term stays . Very well equipped in general . The kitchen has all necessary items to cook meals if you want . On our arrival we had a bottle of wine , water , coffee, nice fresh fruit. If you are looking for a quiet place , surrounded by nature, this is the place. Bikes also available. Very close to shops and restaurants. Antonio and Leonor you are great hosts that made us feel home and enjoy our holidays, thank you . We recommend this place and we will definitely come back .

Positive: We’ve been travelling through Europe for 4 weeks now and have stayed at over 15 properties- and I can honestly say that this place - Casa do Avo at Monte da Caniveta was our BEST experience! Our hosts were amazing! We were welcomed & greeted with warm smiles - complimentary bottle of wine (which is a first! other properties had a price tag on their bottle…) complimentary fruit, coffee, water etc.. immediately felt spoilt ☺️ The house itself has been finished to the highest of quality in finishes & furnishings. Beautiful Linen and most comfortable beds - we had the best nights rest! Probably as it is so super quiet at night.. no city noise as you are in the rural, between farmland and nothing around you… The electric external blinds are a modern bonus and blocks out all light. Relaxing seating area on the patio with beautiful views. The kitchen was such a pleasure to cook in and the bathroom so luxurious. It was just so clean - everywhere! Our host was so generous- even offered us to stay longer than check-out time. This was the perfect spot for us to relax on our road trip from Faro to Porto. It is a 25min drive to Vila Nova de Milfontes or 30min to Porto Covo. I highly recommend this property and would certainly return again without a doubt!
