Positive: Pool was great, Staff was Great, room was ok
Negative: breakfast was not what we expected with very few choices. It was not a buffet. we were served juice in a chipped glass. no pastries either probably because there weren't many guests. it seemed there were more staff than guest. rain fell and all the corridors were filled with puddles of water also the walkway to your room. it seemed like a ghost town and you would think july would be part of peak time.
Summary: This place has potential to be great it just needs to revamp.

Positive: Access to beach and the Fish Fry on Friday down at beach. Rooms were neat.
Negative: The place is getting a bit run down. The pool was unclean and I had to get out because I started to scratch. The bars were always empty so could not access drinks .
Summary: It was a sweet short getaway.

Positive: The hotel is beautiful for the location and friendly staff. The areas around the hotel and the room was clean.
Negative: Being told on arrival there is a water problem and one has to ask reception to turn on the water when you need a shower. The television in the room didn't pick up channels and I had to get some maintenance person to assist. He was very courteous and kind. The hotel is practically empty whilst I was there. Only a couple single people and a family was seen. We did half board but we were the only 2 people having dinner in the restaurant for the time we stayed which was quite sad in a way. At breakfast, also only once we saw another group eating breakfast. No buffet menus as not enough people around. There were stray cats and dogs around the hotel which for that standard of hotel should really not happen. The golf course is totally abandoned and the buildings around it are ruins. Such a sad state for this place which was known to be one of the best hotels in Tobago at one time. It is apparent there are no funds to keep the hotel in good condition as despite the beauty of the furniture and areas, it is obvious nothing is being kept or maintained. Staff are lovely but also they have no real training on service etc so not able to advise anything if asked. No management personnel in sight, I guess to afraid to be asked questions. I observed one evening a man came to collect his dinner from the hotel restaurant and I was told that was the manager but he quickly disappeared. So, really, he had no interest in the hotel, just the meal. The waiting staff are very kind and trying their best to make things nice for the few guests who come there but also their jobs must be under threat. 2 staff members were leaving that week. So please consider a total rethink of management and services to ensure this hotel can regain some status. I would not revisit despite the nice team who served us breakfast and dinner and cleaners, grounds men. Good luck. Very disappointing stay.

Positive: The breakfast was great! The room was exactly what we needed, a place to rest and relax. Dinner was sumptuous, we requested an earlier hour for dinner and the staff accommodated us. Thanks to all from the front desk to the kitchen for making our stay so wonderful. Special thanks to all who served the meals, they were all so friendly and lovely persons to talk to.

Positive: I went out-of-season and at times felt like I had the hotel to myself. There were definitely more staff than patrons. So they were happy to oblige with any request. The room was lovely, well appointed and clean, and the location is beautiful. Within a 10 minute walk or couple of minutes drive you can reach six different beaches, dozens of places to buy food and drink, including the excellent bar on the beach operated by the hotel. Being on a hill means you get beautiful sunrise and sunsets.
Negative: The food was a little basic for my taste. It either needed to be more genuinely local or more elaborate. Because I was the only one at breakfast they did not put out the buffet. There was only instant coffee available. Despite advertising as a spa resort there was no spa in operation (not sure why). The wifi was extremely patchy, but does cover the beach area too.

Positive: The closeness of the beach very convenient and being a guest at the hotel allowed you free chairs and fresh towels They also had a bar and restaurant on the beach attached to the hotel.
Negative: It would have been nice if the hotel had some local drivers for short distances we found we were being overcharged because we were tourists they did have contacts for things to do on the island and the concierge was heelpful
Summary: stayed for 3 nights with breakfast and dinner included, the food and service was excellent
