Situated in a quiet neighborhood up on St. John's fourth highest peak, Gifft Hill, this bright and cozy upper unit cottage is an ideal location to enjoy St. John's amazing natural beauty. Our Cottage is two miles from Cruz Bay, as well as the stunning beaches and hiking trails in the US Virgin Islands National Park. Mountain Breeze Cottage offers lots of outdoor living space with majestic views east looking out to the National Park's southern shore and to the west the lights of St Thomas.
The Space:
The unique quality of Mountain Breeze is the fact that it sits atop one of the largest mountains on St. John and is home to one of the few villas where guests can watch the sunrise and sunset from the comfort of their own space. And if you time it right, the full moon rises are equally as spectacular!
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the upstairs unit (two bedroom/1 bathroom) and all the surrounding yard and patio space. A unique quality of Mountain Breeze is the large patches of smooth, grassy areas which is both rare for St. John and great for visiting families!
The Neighborhood:
Situated atop Gifft Hill, Mountain Breeze Cottage borders the hills of the National Park offering unobstructed views of the National Park; the southshore beaches; St. Croix; and the Caribbean Ocean. This quiet neighborhood, approximately 10 minutes from the heart of Cruz Bay, is great for guests seeking a private residence.
Getting Around:
A rental vehicle is strongly suggested. St. John has a very hilly terrain that makes it very difficult to navigate on foot. Taxis are available, however, a rental vehicle is best when staying on St. John.

Mountain Breeze Cottage is an ideal family vacation rental. This cozy hilltop home is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Cruz Bay, but far enough to immerse oneself in the natural sights and sounds of St. John.

Summary: What a gem!! This cottage is updated & very well appointed including a built in safe for valuables. Located on top of the fourth highest hill on the island, wth deer that graze alongside the house in the mornings. Easy to see St. Thomas from the front & Rendezvous Bay from back. There is a very comfortable breeze through the unit, with A/C's located in bedrooms. The Host is exceptionally helpful, check-in & out is extremely easy. The short drive from the main road to the house is rugged but well worth the effort. So very nice & comfortable, would absolutely return!

Summary: Very nice, well-furbished 2BR house high in the hills of St. Johns with beautiful views of the ocean and coastline. Excellent location in terms of being away from the business of Cruz Bay, but close enough (2-3 miles) that getting in to enjoy the bars and restaurants was easy. Host were very helpful at every stage of the process and responsive to questions/needs that arose. T-Mobile cell phone did not work at the house, however, and it was necessary to program through the house's wifi in order to use the phone. Would highly recommend this home for groups of 2-4 people.

Summary: What a welcoming presence and constant contact Brandon provided at this Mountain Breeze home. He met us at the ferry dock and lead the way up to the home. So helpful and informative. He dropped pins to lead us to places to visit It felt like we had come to visit friends. The home was so clean with so many amenities! Lovely kitchen that we used quite a bit. It even came with a bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee. So thoughtful. Such pleasant outdoor spaces each with a view of either a sunset or sunrise. And so close to the Windmill Bar and Grill for fun sunset drinks and music. This home will be on my list to visit again and again.

Summary: Place is beautiful and awesome, we loved it. Kitchen is well stocked, had coolers, towels, ice packs, everything you need. It's only 10 min from Cruz Bay and not too far from centerline road to go east. Outdoor eating was awesome, great views. At least in Feb is it however VERY windy (it earned its name) Couple of notes: the final bit of road getting to the property is rough. Not steep, but rough. Luckily it didn't rain significantly, but definitely get a jeep/4WD (vehicle with ground clearance). it's a duplex and there's a property below. The sightlines are good so you really don't see each other, but just an FYI. Overall loved it and would rent again..

Summary: Terrific views of sunrises and sunsets, Mountain Breeze is a gem. Comfortable bedrooms, nice bathroom and well-stocked kitchen items. Lovely patio with grill and dining set. Wonderful welcome by property manager, including a lovely bottle of wine and charcuterie items. A great place and highly recommend!

Summary: This place was wonderful! Ashley, both Brandons and Shawna were so professional with helping us with EVERYTHING! The amenities like beach towels, beach chairs, laundry detergent, toaster oven, microwave, etc. was above and beyond anywhere we have every stayed. My husband, myself and our two adult sons found it a perfect size and would recommend it to anyone who asked. If you are a light sleeper we would encourage you to use the AC at night as white noise…it is called Moutain Breeze for a reason :) So grateful to have found this place for our first trip to STJ! .

Summary: Our Host was incredibly easy to work with and stayed in touch our entire stay to answer any questions! Mountain Breeze literally had everything we needed! It was like being in our home away from home. We did not want for anything (coolers, beach towels, sunscreen, bluetooth speaker, family games, all the cooking supplies we needed to make our meals) We even baked homemade cookies! I can not put into words how incredible the views of St. John & St Thomas we’re from this property, breath taking!! i will book with Brandon and team again!

Summary: This cottage is a gem! Beautiful space with breathtaking views… sunrise in the back and sunset in the front. A little challenging to find so I’d suggest a conversation in advance about finding the road where you need to turn in. Well worth the 15-minute drive into the hills from Cruz Bay.

Summary: The house has a beautiful view and everything you need to have a perfect vacation. The beach towels and coolers were very much appreciated. Location is central and easy to get multiple locations. We loved open Mic night at Lucy's and Maho beach swimming with the turtles.
